I'm going to have to go spend some time looking through the options for this, but anything by The Mountain Goats or the Hilltop Hoods will be high on my list. Saw both of these fantastic acts again (well for the first time for the Mountain Goats) at the Falls Fest at New Years... absolutely amazing. Can't rave enough about them :)

CB :)

I'm a huge fan of the Mountain Goats after seeing them in '05.

Haven't acutally thought about voting this year, oh well! I'll be moving house listening to the countdown.

Seeing as I own every Midnight Oil album, the afforementioned concert on DVD and have seen them live I'll agree. But I never said TISM were the smartest guys, just some of them.

And TISM's lyrics go a lot deeper than you seem to have the ability to appreciate.

If you think TISM are just a novelty act you're wrong. Dead wrong.

And regardless Jet still suck.

So there you go, I'm not derailing this thread any further I'll just rest assured in the knowledge that I'm right. Dead right.

ya hear that, lost pants ? the bells ringing, time to go back to class...

I wholeheartedly agree that Jet blow.
And the Mountain Goats are pretty cool. Managed to bum a smoke off one of them when they played at uni. Didn't even bat an eyelid, those lads.

Wasn't 10,000 days released this year?

I also don't listen to JJJ, though I'd assume that:

Tool - Vicariuos

Would (and should) rank well

jet invented blowing, that's why they're so fucking good at it

who am I voting for....

Sarah Blasko - Gardens End

Clare Bowditch - (yet to be decided)

Tom Yorke - Black Swan

Freestylers and Pendulum - Painkillah

Stanton Warriors - Get em High

Ladytron - Everything you touch

The Gossip - (can't remember the song)

Lily Allan - Smile

The Knife - Silent Shout

Little Birdy - Bodies

The last two hottest 100 have kinda sucked though....

I missed out on voting. :(

Although I don't agree, I think Crazy will get #1. :|

Any other predictions?

starlight - muse SHOULD get number 1... i have been saying this for months... ask xcidium, i told him!

well... its on soon..

Up to 95 so far nothing really of note.....except Pearl Jam at 97 making them one of the longest standing hottest 100 bands....they were in since 1993 and got 2 songs in the top 10 of the "all time" vote in 98...

Oh and Red Riders got 96....they're a good group :D

Oh and my prediction for #1 is The Hard Road - Hilltop Hoods

Argh! Gotye - Learnalilgivinalovin just came in at 94!! That should be in the top 25 at least!! :(

But 2 Lily Allen tracks to follow it up, i'm happy again :) Can't wait to see her in 2 days...

I was quite shocked Augie March got it, especially given some of the other tracks that i thought would have been far more popular.

Still, a wise choice. One Crowded Hour was definitely one of the best in the list, i think.

Augie March and fucking crap. Crap of the crapest quality. Just crap really.

Having your band name start with "A" is probably good for getting votes in the hottest 100

That was the year I stopped listening to the J's, cos it completed my growing realisation of what it had become (or always was?).

I hadnt even thought of the hottest 100 - i wish i could have been around for australia day bbqs at least.

I think that year some kid just voted 1,515,189 times so that song would win. When it was announced, I couldn't even remember hearing it being played on JJJ throughout that year. It was a conspiracy!

*dons tinfoil hat*

All in all, a bit disappointed, but oh well.
At least Eskimo Joe didn't win.
