^ people did realise, some didn't speak out, some were ignored by the looks of things. he paid his hush money, and said he hated kids to avoid awkward questions.
now, from watching that prog last night and listening to the news for the last few weeks it's very clear that it was a known fact in the upper echelons (and in deed lower echelons) of the beeb that savile was a sicko. why the fuck did they bother to make the savile tributes? the tributes they made that prevented the newsnight from going out? i also think the hoo ha they are making about this programming issue is so that they divert attention from the fact that they let him carry on, and made it easy for him to do so.
yes the 70s were a different age when some men thought they were entitled to grope pretty young things, still, someone should have had a word with him...i bet no one at the beeb let their own daughters near him .
yeh, the bbc action line, they always wheel it out. also, this years children in need...quite likely donations might be down. (sorry bout the beadle joke, he had a little hand in many things, i'm sure he was a good family man)
