So I have been using roxies for a while. Most of the time when I nod its relatively smooth....I fall asleep for a sec andcthen just open my eyes and pick my head up, that sorta thing. But sometimes I nod and then I'm awaken with my arms or legs jerking for a sec as I 'wake up ' . One time I was sitting on the couch watching Tv w some friends who don't know about me taking the meds , so I was trying super hard not to nod off. I obviously did and I literally almost fell off the couch cause my legs and arms jerked. Also as this is happening (in a split second) it also scares the shit outta me. So after it happens, everyone is looking at me like "what the hell is wrong w u?? "
It has also happened to me while laying in my bed. My whole body jerks to wake me up. It seems like it only happens when I take the roxies.
my question is has this happened to anyone else??? Are the "jerks " violent? Do they only happen after taking oxycodone???

Thank

yeah, I think that's fairly common, that sudden sort of spaz out thing as you wake up, that jerk. I have experienced that too. I don't think it's specific to oxycodone. For me, it isn't specific to any one opiate and actually it happens with me in really deep sleep when I'm extra tired and sitting up like if I fall asleep in a car or on an airplane...has happened to me lying in bed too, after I haven't slept for a while. There's a word for it----myoclonic jerk. Anyway I think nothing to worry about <3

Im not sure it has anything to do with the substance, more with how you were trying so hard to fight it that when you finally nodded it was way more intense. If you were trying to hide it, this makes you more tense and naturally more jerky. I think.

^ that.

Basically when your respiration and pulse begin slowing down rapidly, your brain gets nervous that you might be dying and sends a shock to wake you back up. It happens to most people when they are really tired and begin falling asleep and is common on lots of sedating substances, especially opioids.

lol, happens to me a lot on dope and oxys. Usually if I'm trying to stay awake at a public place, I smack myself, but generally I just go back to nodding off. Maybe that's why they call it smack. :D

This always happens to me while nodding, especially when I am about to throw a kick in a nod-dream and I kick inside my bed sheets instead in real life and wake myself up.
