I just rented this the other night expecting to have a laugh at the expense of Jean Claude Van Damme attempting to do a serious movie. This movie put me in my place! This movie is great. Jean Claude gives an awesome performance basically playing himself.

I loved how he's in a movie-type situation and everyone expects him to rescue them. But, he's merely an actor afraid of getting his head blown off. He has a scene towards the end where he basically breaks the forth wall and gives a heart-wrenching speech about how he has fucked his career up, hates to see those who have it worse than him and is afraid to die in that post office.

The film plays in an out-of-sequence, Pulp Fiction style which makes it even more incredible. Rent this movie. You will be very surprised by Mr Universal Soldier. The scene below is foreign, but you can watch the entire movie dubbed in english with the original actor's voices.

*DAMN IT! I LEAVE FOR TWO MONTHS AND CAN'T REMEMBER HOW TO INSERT A LINK FOR SHIT.

I really enjoyed this film, who knew the man could act? Done in a smart and funny very self aware way I found all parts of this film really entertaining. Apparently Van Damme even improvised a lot of lines (the taxi scene being one in particular) why did he wait so long to actually try his hand at acting? Possibly even his second greatest film (after Bloodsport of course).

A good Jean-Claude Van Damme flick you say? It's true! :)

Quite an odd movie, partly based on Jaun-Claude's life (his family troubles, drug addiction & being a joke of an actor) & partly around a fictional bank heist he gets caught up in when returning home from the US.

Currently has 85% on RT.

Drama, dark meta-comedy & a bio-flick all in one.

I enjoyed it a lot, as i said in the other thread it's the best Jean Claude movie apart from bloodsport =D

Opps, must have missed that post. I searched I swear! :)

Good to see others enjoyed it, too.

This movie was pretty enjoyable. As others have said the humor was on point and the scene where he breaks the fourth wall was intense and brutally honest. Van Damme impressed me in this one. Recommended for sure.
