Am I a lucky exception or are all the stories about terrible jaw grinding over blown? I never had anything more than maybe a slight desire to chew some gum on the come down. I do get the desire to be moving most of the time, even when I am feeling sort of smacked out near the end of the peak. Basically I'm curious what percentage of people experience jaw grinding/clenching, or what other negative compulsive behaviors are experienced (such as lip biting, picking at nails, etc).

Not everyone experiences it. My husband never has clinching or grinding issues but he will get terrible cramps in his calf muscles. I won't grind my teeth at all but I do have a tendency to clinch...it's worse if I chew gum because i will chew the hell out of it and it only makes my jaws sore the next day. I usually try to keep a cough drop in my mouth and when I do I never have problems.

I get a mild urge to clench my teeth together, but that`s about it :)

4 me it usually depends on the type of pills some have had little or no effect and ive had other times when it has been just horrible

Some experiences I've chewed and grinded like a mofo. Other times it's more mild. I think it depends on the dose - basically how strong pills I have are/aren't.

I'd say consider yourself lucky, most people I know hate the side affect of grinding all night :)

I don't clench or grind my teeth because I don't want to damage them. I keep my teeth a few millimeters apart and move my jaw side to side a lot. I do this for at least half the time I'm rolling. By the end of the night my jaw is usually numb. The next day my jaw hurts and I have cuts on the inside of my mouth near my molars. My mouth just feels like it needs to move, it feels good moving my jaw side to side. A lot of people ask me what I'm eating. When I roll in public I have to use a lot of restraint to stop myself, sometimes I don't realize I'm doing it.

I was rollin last night, chewing some gum when all of a sudden my jaw snaped together slightly chiping one of my back teeth, the first pill I took was a damn speedbomb! I never get clenching on clean pills though!

Yeah, I agree with the general consensus, some pills I can have a happy jaw all night, but some nights, generally when im most wasted I will grind the whole night through and result in chipped teeth, bitten open lips and general destruction to my mouth.

Very simple....
Jaw grinding/biting = speed in your pills

for your teeth use bubblegum and put it between your back teeth
for your lips use labello (i dont know how it's called in the us...you use it for dry lips in the winter)

Jaw grinding occurs from MDMA also. It is not just speed. Its the result of elevated dopamine levels, and MDMA does raise dopamine. Not as much as meth/amp but it does.

Every time I've taken MDMA in the last 2 years I've had jaw clenchs, some of them pretty extreme. Only 1 of the type of pills tested as a meth/MDMA mix, all others were MDMA.

I only grind my teeth on MDMA and not on amphetamines... or for some reason my teeth only hurt the day after X and not after speed 8o

anyway, i'm not a big jaw clencher but those here who do have a jaw clenching problem,

should take a big dose of magnesium prior to dosing the X (it relaxes muscles & lowers tension in the jaws) %)

This works. I suffer from TMJ, which is a joint disorder of the jaw, and should not be rolling anyway, due to the clenching/grinding that sometimes follows. Taking magnesium helps out quite a bit. :)

Last time I rolled I had really bad jaw clenching. Still had it the next day.

I was really shakey too. Dunno why. Speed in them or something?

i tend to find myself playing with my tongue ring and sometimes jaw clinching to where my teeth will be so sensitive the next day like touching a nerve sensitive.

I get pretty mad clenching, I hate when you wake up and your pupils still look like a 2p piece 0_0

I clench my hands too, even the next morning, like I'm making a fist but squeeze it like a motherfucker, and shit, I hate it when my mum says "I've made you a lovely big pizza"...then asks where my usually big appetite is

bweheh day after I rolled for the first time, it felt like I had 5 holes in my teeth, I wasn't going to do X ever again :D

Not necessarily, I can get pretty shaky too sometimes on mdma, I think it's because your temperature rises a little and you are oversensitive to heat & cold. Like you have a fever or something..

The last 2 nights I rolled I have gotten hot and sweaty during the roll and then cold on the comedown. It takes my body awhile to get back to the right temp... I am normally a very hot blooded person and I rolled near winter and i was fine outside with just a t shirt. Feeling cold on E is new to me, maybe it was just the latest pills...

I rolled for the first time a couple nights ago, and experienced a lot of jaw clenching on the comedown. When I got home I put on my retainer and it worked like a charm! Plus it didn't look as silly as a pacifier would :) I'll definitely bring it for future rolls! If you have one, I highly recommend using it.

i would suggest that you get a mouth piece like sports players than using your retainer. you may bight so hard that you break or chip that expensive little piece called your retainer. ;)

Rather than using anything in your mouth, try taking magnesium supplements. Works fantastically.
