The actor son of Hong Kong action superstar Jackie Chan has been detained in Beijing on drug-related charges, the latest high-profile celebrity to be ensnared in one of China's biggest anti-drug crackdowns in two decades.
Jaycee Chan, 31, was detained last Thursday together with the 23-year-old Taiwanese movie star Kai Ko, Beijing police said late Monday on their official microblog, identifying them only by their surnames, ages and nationalities. It was unclear why the detentions were announced several days later.
[h=2]Actors admit to drug use, police[/h]Police said both actors tested positive for marijuana and admitted using the drug, and that 100 grams of it were taken from Chan's home.

So much for being the AD ambassador. Newly formed Yakuza of moviestars and the upcoming generation.

I can't see anywhere in that article anything mentioning his execution .... There's just no way that would happen.

I kind of expected it to be coke or smack ....... It's just two stoners chilling out ... Poor guy's.

i think china used to use weed as a herbal medicine like a century ago and for ages before that, i just dont get why eastern countries get sooooo caught up in the anti drug hype

Poor guy he probably has a genetic substance use issue considering his dad was a drunken master.

Haaaa

I was thinking ice or maybe even smack, but weed?? I'd think with all the use of herbal medicine weed would be tolerated...but since it gets you high and makes you feel good its banned. Can't have anyone high and feeling good in China lol

Hey, at least they pick on the elites as well as the little guys.
We all know that piss testing for weed is like shooting fish in a barrel.

Yes they used cannabis/hash, and opium as medicines.

But Maoism and the Western war on drugs were major factors; but in modern day China the drug war there is a complete failure.

There's an update on Chan's son here:

The history of Western imperialism has a lot to do with it.

The same culture that created the peculiar institution of legalized infant rape and torture back in the late 1800s as a "cure" for masturbation. We all know what it is.

The same culture today, destroying human rights en masse.
