hey i was looking at the ingredients in J Collis Brownes and all i can find is anhydrous morphine and peppermint oil i have searched and heard there is an alcohol content (between 45% and 96% and of course sugar will be in there) but would not know myself, but if the contents are just oil and anhydrous morphine (i know im going to get flamed for this because its so obvious someone must have thought of it before and so obviously it wont work) but couldnt you seperate it with water?

Because alcohol, water, and peppermint oil will form a huge milky emulsion that will never seperate.

The ideal procedure would be to acidify it with HCl, wash with hexanes/naptha a few times, basify with CaOH or equiv, collect the precipitate of calcium morphinate and treat it with dilute HCl/H2SO4 in sol'n and evaporate or recrystallize.

As a poster above noted, the yield just isn't worth it. It's all of 10mgs in a bottle - if looking for OTC opis, carefully extracted codeine/dhc (I'm assuming you're in the UK) via a cold water extraction's the best bet...Solpadine migraine (Ibuprofen and codeine) are pricey, but seem to filter/seperate extremely well - and a pack of 24 contains around 300mgs of codeine, which is considerably more euphoric, in my opinion, than 10mgs of morphine. And pods, though hellishly addictive, are better than either - just keep the use occasional, or you can get into very sketchy territory damn fast.

Just filter carefully. Realise I'm bumping an old thread, but right now, BL's the only thing keeping me remotely sane.
