In the UK there is a medicine available over the counter which provides "Warming relief for Diarrhoea and associated Stomach Upsets and Coughs".

The ingredients are as follows

Each 5 ml dose contains Morphine Hydrochloride equivalent to 1 mg Morphine Anhydrous and 1.5 microlitre Peppermint Oil Ph. Eur
Also contains Ethanol (96 per cent), Benzoic Acid (E210), Caramel (E150), Citric Acid (E330), Sorbitol Solution
Ethanol: 2.13%v/v per 100ml bottle,

Would it be safe to assume the only active ingredient in this medicine is the morphine?

is there enough Ethanol in this medicine to give an addition effect? (hope not).

And what about the other ingredients?

Safe to down the hole thing?

Ethanol is certainly active... Peppermint oil may hurt you from the methanol in it, but I'm not sure at what dose that would start to happen. That's probably worth looking into.

I would experiment at lower doses and work your way up to a comfortable level after researching how much peppermint oil is safe to consume.

I've downed several bottles of this in one go before.

I've gotten a stomach ache from doing loads - but never from doing just one.

If you have fuck all tolerance, then a bottle will have you feeling pretty nice.

Its very expensiver though - considering its only 20mg of morphine. You would be better off just getting a bag of smack tbh.

Another option from the pharmacy is codeine linctus. Thats only £1.50, and you get 600mg of codeine.

I have hardly any tolerance at all, all I've [ab]used is codeine in the past. so half a bottle would do the trick?

And smack?! No way that stuff is evil, from what I've heard even looking at that stuff will lead you to addiction.

^Heroin is just acetylated morphine... I think morphine is probably the more addictive of the two, honestly... Heroin is just preferred due to the quicker onset and less histamine rush, and I believe lower addiction potential compared to morphine, if I remember a Bayer advertisement from the early 1900's correctly that claimed heroin was a "heroine" drug that had the similar properties to, but not the deep addiction potential of morphine.

yea, that stuff isn't that great, i'd steer clear

cheers

(sorry for the post, i didn't see how old this was)

Funny how people think taking morphine (or any pharmaceutical opiate for that matter) is different than taking heroin. The only reasons why heroin gets this reputation is because it's usually associated with the needle and it's cheap so those with a high tolerance get their money's worth. Other than that, addiction potential is negligible with strong opiates vs. Heroin.

Lol yeah man whatever you do, DO NOT let your dealer show you a bag of that shit they have some kind of voodoo that will instantly make you hooked at just the sight of the powder.

Morphine and heroin are equally addictive. Heroin would only be "more addictive" by virtue of the fact you can get it in a more pure, higher quantity form than morphine more often than not.

I hope you see that drugs can have stereotypes, but they're often very wrong. There are plenty of drugs more addictive than heroin (though for most people, they find some drugs to be uniquely addictive to them) such as alcohol, benzos, barbiturates, methaqualone, crack, meth, or tobacco.

20mg of morphine should be OK for someone who has used/abused codeine in the past. Without any opiate tolerance (though I had taken oxycodone and hydrocodone orally a while before hand) a 30mg MS contin tablet was great for me. :)

Theres also "Kaolin and Morphine" otc.

They often don't shake ther bottle before giving it to you - so you can pour the morphine right off the top of the clay.

Thats only around £1.20 for 20mg morphine.

That sucks for US pain patients who can't get morphine OTC.

That's a pretty cool tidbit for everyone, that you can pour the morphine off the top. :)

The pharmacy I pick up my methadone from has Collis and Brownes, Codeine Linctus and Kaolin and Morphine right there on the shelf.

I stare at them most mornings. Wondering if the girl behind the counter would actually sell me a bottle (of the linctus)..

I bought a bottle of this.. Is there any possible way of extracting the morphine?

Also codeine is my only opiate experience and I've only tried it once, do you think 20mg of Morphine will be too much?

You just need to let the contents settle - the kaolin will form a thick, heavy layer at the bottom (it's a form of clay so settles out easily) and skim the liquid off the top with a pipette, oral syringe or similar. That liquid is only really safe to use orally or rectally (producing pure morphine suitable for snorting or injecting would be all but impossible with all the added ingredients). 20mg is a fairly light oral dose, in my opinion, but with no tolerance you may well feel it and find it enough. Grapefruit juice will potentiate the effects somewhat but you may need more than one bottle to really get a strong effect from it. Start with the liquid from one bottle and see how it goes would be my advice :)

Has anybody necked more than 1 bottle of this and experienced any negative effects? Was planning on throwing back 3 bottles before a coach trip tomorrow, but after reading the post above about stomach upsets I'm worried. Don't wanna be in pain all the way to France :P

I had a therapist once who I tried explaining this to, and he still swore that heroin was the more addictive drug than all of the different pain killers like oxycodone, oxymorphone, etc. because of the rush that heroin is capable of producing.

I told him that I would not be afraid to take morphine and that I believed heroin is morphine in a sports car, essentially, and that the only real difference between the two is heroin's ability to pass through the blood-brain barrier quickly to fill the receptors. He wasn't convinced. :(
