I've just been released from jail homeless and I have court again in 20 days so am probly going back not sure what to do I stop using in jail and stayed on a script but everyone I associate with in my home town are users and when I've had nowhere to stay I've stayed with users

If you could manage to stay on a script in jail where drugs are generally also rampant, then you can do it outside. It's not like you automatically HAVE to use just because people around you are.

Although you'll probably face quite a bit of social pressure in those circles. Nobody wants to be the only one at the metaphorical bar without a drink in his hand, it feels awkward; and then there's that bond you get via the drug association.

You have 3 technical options : re-join the druggie life, stay on a script and remove yourself as much as possible from social contact and feel lonely until you can manage to find non-using mates (which would require finding a better living situation in your case so where to start!), keep your old mates but stay on the script. No. 3 is probably the most difficult but all come with drawbacks.

The salient point in all this is whether or not you're still tempted, in which case you'll almost certainly resume use, or whether you were content on the script.

NO Sir, you stopped using in jail because of 23 hour bang up & you are padded up with Cunts who would spoon your ass for the gear or when you are out on Social if word got around the boss of the wing would tax you.

Foil is nearly impossible to get in jail, the Coffee cream lids have been changed & to even try to get some you gotta speak to someone in the kitchen who would pass word around & you would be raised up.

You may think you can fool people on here, 90% may buy your bullshit but I know better young man ;) ;)

I don’t know about the UK but on the west coast of the USA (where BTH has historically been the drug of choice, and like #3 is usually smoked) people still use dope in jail. Foil (or a syringe) isn’t usually available but people will water loop it, suspend it in liquid in a toothpaste cap or something and then put it up your nose (inhaling liquid into your nose ain’t exactly pleasant but ya gotta do what ya gotta do)

Even with that, syringes still somehow get sneaked in or get improvised. I don't frankly know of anywhere on earth where determined users won't find a way despite draconian legislation.
It's just a question of the closer to 'death for mere possession' you're getting, the less people are willing to take the risk.

Have you tried contacting Crisis? They're really quite helpful, depending on where you live in the UK (or would like to move to). Click this link and it will take you directly to their 'Get Help and Support' page - then phone or email. At the very least, they can often point you in the direction of a charity or agency that can help you find temporary housing and other support.

This could be really useful if you want to move to a different area to escape a certain group of people, contacts or friends you can no longer be around while trying to get sober, as well as to find housing and food.

Take care <3

Only drugs really in jail are spice and any prescription pills people have managed to misdirect and sell on everything is really expensive and

Yea obviously wasn't by choice but I do want to stay clean I've been banging up snowballs since I've been out and only really do it as its part of the homeless life style I enjoy life more when I'm healthy and go.gym and all my friends family and relationships are good then you're content and don't feel the need to use

Are there any kind of rehabs or recovery houses you can check into? Not sure how easy it is to find that kind of placement in the UK, but at least in the US, you can pretty much just walk into a hospital, say you want to off yourself and you're an addict and they'll place you into something better. Usually a 30 day rehab and then your case manager there can direct you to a long term situation where you can get on your feet if you have nowhere else to be. The streets are no place to be if you're trying to get clean dude, definitely try and find some kind of program if you want to get better. At the very least try and go to AA/NA meetings and meet some people, the people there will know what to do. Even if you don't agree with or want to work on the 12 steps, meetings are a great resource for meeting people in recovery that can direct you towards programs or work or whatever, just share in the meeting that you need some help and someone will likely help you.

Wishing you the best fam 🙏

If users or their families can't find a way to smuggle drugs into prison. Don't worry: the staff will.

I'm not against sex, but something about incarceration seems to be a massive aphrodisiac for prison staff.

Some drugs when taken to a certain level can do a ton of damage and I don't find that funny. Prisoners in some cases being coerced/forced into sex isn't amusing to me either. But seeing prison romance and guard drug smuggling news is a great antidote to all the "if it bleeds, it leads" in the rest of the news.

I see you're in the UK (it says below your avi, I'm not stalking lol :p). I was homeless off and on for 4 years. There's usually multiple Homeless Hostels you can live in if you have tried? It's not like homeless shelters where it's first-come-first-serve each night for a bed and you feel really unsafe. You get a bedroom (that locks for your safety and so people can't steel) there permanently. You do have to pay, but it's like £20-£35 per fortnight. It counts as a "fixed abode" too, so you can get government benefits, apply for jobs if you feel able etc. They sometimes offer either one or two (LARGE) free meals per day, too.
Those places really saved my ass many times.

I don't blame you at all for falling back into using. Being homeless is scary and awful and I wouldn't wish it on anyone. I ended up homeless in my late teens when my parents kicked me out (bulimia and alcohol) and I rapidly went from like a liter of vodka a day to a liter of vodka and 3 or 4 bottles of wine a day because I was anxious/lost/bored and found it impossible to sleep etc. I also ended up on IV heroin*. I think getting off the streets and finding a safe place to stay would be the first step, and a big step in the right direction.

*I was already on opioids as I had a legit script for Oxycodone that I kept insisting I needed more of until my doctor decided to stop increasing as he thought 200mg/day was already a lot for someone in their teens and weighing like 7 stone, and I found it so easy to buy online. Switched to heroin as it was so much cheaper and everyone around me in the homeless community was on either that or coke so I had extremely easy access.

I know this is hard to hear and not what you wanna hear, but the only way to stay sober is to cut off all ties with the addicts around you, including your friends (whether or not they are REAL friends or drug-friends). I did that several years back...it was hard and I felt very lonely and isolated at first, but I got up the courage to contact old, healthy-for-me, friends from high school and just said like I missed them, did they wanna meet up? And now we meet like once a month just to go for a meal and to the cinema or something.
I decided to finally learn Spanish and started going to classes and met people there, too.
It's really hard to get away from all those people around you, but it's 100% necessary to get and stay clean.

I wish you the best of luck! :)

Fully when I go back to jail this time they will relocate me I'm gonna push to go rehab. I'm my hometown they have an orginization that houses rough sleepers in a supported accommodation but I got evicted from that as I had a fight with someone who glassed an ex girlfriend so my local council won't house me for a while
