IV Users.... Do you regret "picking up" the needle?

yes i fully regret it...the first time i went into detox i had been iv'ing 4 about a year n i must say i missed using the needle just as much if not more than the drugs itself! i wish i never picked it up i probably still wouldnt b a junkie if i had jus stuck to sniffin'
 
Although I very recently "picked up" this ROA, I don't really regret it yet. The day after I shot I took a decent break for a few days. It almost made me think, if I'm going to be doing shit this dangerous I should cut back my use and make it more of a vacation or special occasion thing then eating them all the time like I had before.

Although I haven't shot the holy grail yet (H), I may regret it after that hits me...but at this point I'm living and loving.

I have just known so many junkies who are so bad about it, but have never touched a needle. If you can use needles responsibly, I don't think there is a lot wrong with it.
 
I regret a lot of it. It destroyed relationships. It hurt my family. It did a lot to me in a negative way. My school life suffered, seriously.

However, it put me on a path that put me in touch with the love of my life. So it's a mixed bag.

I wouldn't be where I am RIGHT NOW, without drug addiction.
 
good question i just started shooting a month ago. and my tolerance has skyrocketed and my funds are decreasing fast. so yes i regret it. and the high is alot shorter. i just like seeing the blood pour in, and the rush
 
Yeah, I regret it. I hate the stigma people put on you once they find out you used to inject or do inject currently. The rush and highs are very nice but the lows are brutal.
 
Its the highest high and the lowest low. I was destined for this life unfortunatly I wanted to do heroin once I found out it was kurt cobain and bradly nowells drug of choice. Its like they made great music on smack why cant I? Beacause I have no musical talent thats why!!
 
No-I most certainly do not regret it. I'm new on this site , but I've been using needles off and on for over 25 years without any problems and without ever collapsing a vein.As with everything relating to drugs, moderation is the key, don't do it every day and there won't be a problem. I limit my IV use to once a week and know what I'm doing. It goes without saying(or should do) to always use a fresh needle, be hygienic and never share. And I have never hit anyone else up or encouraged them to use a needle-if you can't trust yourself to do it then you certainly shouldn't trust anyone else.
 
i most certainly do regret it. i'll never turn back from the needle now...

Shootin up with Gatorade, or sprite, or snow that you grabbed off the side of the road on the block that you just copped your dope on, cuz you aint got no water and cant afford water and you so fucking sick that you cant even be bothered to wait the 10 minute til you can get to a bathroom thats safe enough to shoot up in and use their water...so you take the snow in your bottle and blow the heat vents on it til it melts and shoot up with that....or tryin to catch rain water with your bottle as you drive away from the spot...shit like that....Sittin pokin your self over and over for 45 minutes or a hour, just tryna get a shot in your fuked-up-ass veins....the skeezy, scuzzy shit that you do, it happens...and it may not happen at the beginning of your "im so in control" phase but you go long enough and it will....

I aint sayin that you guys are missin out cuz you aint haha.....jus sayin, that when you from this kind of environment that so many of yall seems to be from, this kinda upper middle class college kid type shit, where you got a perfect lil pharmacy kit that you use each time you boot up and you never do anything even slightly unsanitary when you boot up...So you never known how it feels to just shoot up anywhere you can, to OD in stairwells of apartment buildings, to be out on the street and have to make do with anything you can...to share needles and not think twice becuz you are so sick you cant even bother...and shit like that...you DO do it, it DOES happen, it aint just myths...And i dont like how people treat iv drug users look down on them how i got treated in my years of shootin dope....and thebias and stereotypes do hurt and make you mad...but alot of that shit does happen and it aint just boogie man myths meant to scare you becuz you can go down so low

That's exactly the type of shit that made me regret IVing. Getting to that point where you just don't give a fuck. Using the same needle till it starts falling apart and is too dull to even break your skin and shootin up with puddle water and all that good stuff.

I never heard of any micron filters or any of that fancy shit till I found this site. It was always mix with water, filter with cotton (if I even had it), and shoot. After you're done, rinse out the needle and put that shit right back in your pocket till your next shot. "Use once and destroy" was only a suggestion.

If I had the resources to be able to use a fresh needle every time and use a micron filter and have everything be sterile I really wouldn't regret it. It's not the actual act of using a needle that I regret, it's more the grimy ass shit I've done because of it.
 
I regret it but I would never go back. Once I started shooting I lost my business and my home after a month. Now here I am four years later and the only thing that matters in my life is shooting dope. My months revolve around my pain management doctor visits. And shooting makes your tolerance go sky high. I get 180 30mg OCs and 90 15mg OCs and I usually run out before the week is up. Everything in my life revolves around shooting dope, but the really screwed up thing is I love it, like taking a lover into your arms, you take that shot in your arms and everything else dims compared to that next shot. Every now and then things get really bad and I go to rehab or detox or even jail but that one is never a choice but every time I get any amount of clean time the first thing I do when I get out is get right to it, because you start to dream about it, after 30 days clean every dream is about pills and needles. Its a fucked up way to live but once you live a junk life you begin to see that the only thing that is real is physical pain and there is no greater pleasure then junk hungry cells drinking from the needle, no greater pleasure than that of relief.
 
A follow up to the OP's question:
Was there ever a time that you said that you would absolutely never pick up the needle? Or was there a time that you were even scared to us IV?

your post is kind of confusing, becuz u keep talking about "shooting dope" but you keep bringin up pills. In this thread when people say "dope" we are talkin about heroin. Sure, its a kind of general slang word for some people but 90% of the time dope means heroin. matter fact, i actually never heard somebody call pills "dope" before. so do you do heroin too or you just talkin about your pills?

Like i said, i know its a word that some ppl use for any or all drugs. but most people here understand "dope" to mean "heroin" so when u use it in another way it dont make sense to alot of us....Just puttin that out there for u to consider.

word, yeah this would confuse a lot of people i think. Also as a junkie i almost get offended when people compare shooting pills to shooting dope. Yeah, maybe shooting pills is a bit more dangerous if you cant afford fancy micron filters, but the game is a LOT different when you're having to meet your guy every day at 7 cuz youre sick versus meeting your friend at his house who just got his monthly oxys that he doesnt take. Idk. Maybe I'm just being bitter.
 
Sorry but when I say dope I'm referring to opiates in general. I do pills and dope but the dope in Florida doesn't come around too often I have to drive out of state to get it which I do when I get some word on something fire.

@pallidamors the pill game in Florida is not different from the dope game. I've traveled all over the country and strolled through many bad hoods trying to cop something. And having the tolerance as high as my own I do have to get up every morning and get something otherwise I just wake up vomiting. And its not as easy as going to a friends house once a month, everyone that gets scripts around here sells them and they go fast so most of the time its all hunting. And takes alot of hustling to maintain a high level of usage. So there really is no difference between our pill scene and your dope scene. The only real difference I see between what goes on here with pills or in the cities I go to for real dope is that with pills you actually know what you are dealing with where dope you don't know the strength of what your getting cuz I have gotten some shit that was fire and but me out cuz I did to many bags. So don't be bitter man I'm a junkie just like you its just here the pills are more abundant and being a pain mgt. patient it's also legal for me to carry them around.

Not really. It is a hugeeeee step in the wrong direction IMO. Sure you are gonna "fuck your life up" somewhat if you do dope at all, but not to the degree of sniffing vs. shooting.
