Hello, i was just wondering if anybody could please enlighten me on why my suboxone is not really working? Ok heres the info...i shot up 2 roxi's through out the day with the latest one being at 6pm, well around 10pm i go get my buddy some beer and he saw i was withdrawling so out of his sleeve he comes up with a 8mg suboxone strip that he gives me..i was so tempted to cut that bitch into 4 quarters and shoot a piece the second i got it, but i fought off the urge and decided i would try to sleep, well it being the 4th of july and all it was fuckin loud all night so finally i got back up at around 1245am after being woken up so many times and just couldnt fight the urge to feel better any longer, so i just shot it like 20 minutes ago, and for about 5 minutes literally nothing happened and then randomly i felt like i got like a rush(weird rush at that, kinda felt like cold liquid runnin through my whole body)..I know i didnt throw myself into precipitated withdrawal but im not feeling relief like i should from a sub.

While its relieving a couple of my symptoms like the restless leg, and the aches and fatigue etc etc it almost feels like its making my hot sweats worse. can anyone elaborate.?

if you cant/too lazy to do the math I shot the sub about 6 hours after my last roxy injection.

6 hours after a roxy injection is a little soon.... but i know how bad coming off oxycodone can be an all of a sudden "dizziness oh lord here we go again -> WITHDRAWAL" right after waking up from the now.

precepitated withdrawals?

Yeah i realize i should have waited alot longer then i did but i just couldnt hold off any longer.. and yeah i used to be heavily addicted to oxycontin back in the day, but then once i got past the taboo of the needle i've been doing H alot, just couldnt get my hands on any today. Precipitated withdrawal is when you dose with suboxone/subutex a little while after doing opiates and throw yourself into instant withdrawal because you didnt wait long enough, im sure somebody could explain it a little better but thats the jist.

IV suboxone is weird. Whenever I IV suboxone, the only immediate effect I get is the orange taste in the back of my mouth. I feel absolutely no effects from the drug for atleast 5 - 10 minutes, and it seems to take about 15 - 20 minutes to reach its peak effect, then stays there for about 4 - 6 hours.

Don't expect any kind of rush from it, and if you're used to IVing Oxycodone or Heroin you will probably be dissapointed. I know I was the first time I IV'd suboxone!

Also, I agree with what others have said, 6 hours since your last injection was not enough time. You should have waited atleast double that, 12 - 24 hours, until your in full blown W/D's, before you did the sub.

thanks for the advice, and yeah im not shooting the sub for recrational use even though there are certain effects that sure don't hurt, i cant really call it euphoria but its just a sense of calmness..i'm iv'ing subs cause im hoping yesterday will be my last day ever using opiates to get high, i got one 8mg sub strip that i can make last my 3-4 days and then any w/d after that im just gonna have to deal with =/

i'm still curious as to why this happened, could someone enlighten me please?

I wanna help but i'm not sure what you're asking that hasn't already been explained?

If you use suboxone too soon before your lose dose of Oxycodone, you will go into precipitated withdrawal.

If you wait atleast 12-24 hours until your in full withdrawals, and then you IV your suboxone, there will be no discernable rush and not much of a "high" to speak of. Just diminished withdrawal symptoms and a general feeling of well-being.

I'm wondering why it relieved some symptoms while making others worse? i've heard the horrors of precipitated withdrawal and i know i didn't throw myself into it but the sub was not nearly as effective as it usually is.

what symptoms did it relieve and what symptoms did it make worse? how long did you wait after your last oxy dose before you used the suboxone? what dosage of suboxone did you use?

it helped with my general fatigue, my nausea, aches and RLS but it made the cold/hot sweats alot worse, i was burnin up. about 6 hours(i know definitely should have waited longer but luckily i didnt get the PW) and about 2-2.5mg IV'd.

Ugh..about to take my last little quarter right now of the suboxone and then after that, im gonna have to deal with these opiates cold turkey and sweat it out =[

Well it seems like it diminished your withdrawal symptoms completely, I think the sweats and burning up was just a side effect of the suboxone combined with the hot weather we've been having. Suboxone usually make me sweat like a pig and I think opiates in general make me run warm and sweat more than usual.

If thats the only negative side effect you got, like I said I don't think thats withdrawal related, more just a normal side effect of the suboxone.

Good luck going cold turkey from the opiates...is there a reason why you have to go cold turkey though? Do you just not have money or what? If your going to go cold turkey, make sure you stock up on things that youll need - namely Ibuprofen, Loperamide, ice packs, etc, and make sure to drink plenty of water.

Is there any chance you can get some weed and/or some benzos?

I've been needing to get off opiates for along time but now i feel like i'm finally ready too, and yeah im gonna have to go cold turkey because i literally have no money at all available to me(or id just go get some subs:P ). While i wont have access to any benzos, i do have all the weed i could possibly think of smoking but i hate weed during opiate withdrawal..I've been a huger stoner for a good 11 years, since i was 10 years old, i've always loved smoking weed, but when im in opiate withdrawal and i try to smoke bud, it makes my anxiety worse.
