background: i'm a former IV heroin user been off of it and all opiates for a few years now.

I have recently come into posession of a large amount of generic methylphenidate ER capsules. Me, being an addict, decided to try IVing the extracted (ethyl alcohol evap) chemical, with spectacular results.

my question: How quickly will i develop a tolerance to this drug/roa? Are there withdrawal symptoms comparable to heroin withdrawal? I could really see myself getting addicted to this drug, as the effects seem to mimic cocaine for me. i even get that numbness feeling from it, perhaps just psychological. the comedown also seems to be pretty rough.

ive tried searching the forums and have mostly found information regarding its use and not so much regarding the comedown/possible withdrawal aspect.

thanks for your time.

Probably very quickly. See below.

Are there withdrawal symptoms comparable to heroin withdrawal?

No, methylphenidate is a norepinephrine-dopamine reuptake inhibitor that has (much as you've discovered) many similarities in effects to cocaine. If you're chasing euphoria with IV the dose will escalate really quickly and soon you'll find you get all cracked out and then crash like a fucking rock a few hours later. The "withdrawal" is probably closer to a washout period where you'll just want to sleep all day and do nothing.

Treat it like cocaine for the purposes of dependence, withdrawal etc. It will be compulsive as all hell, have very bad diminishing returns, and result in crashes/regular life seeming dull. Note that methylphenidate, while notably less cardiotoxic due to less effects on cardiac conduction (cos it's not an anesthetic), can still cause events like strokes and heart attacks. The risk increases with injection, and large doses.

If you keep the doses low, you shouldn't have too much trouble handling the crash, but given that you're IVing it I doubt that's going to be the case.

MPH builds tolerance FAST, and IVing drugs builds tolerance notoriously fast as well, so combine those two, and you've got quite a tolerance. Also I would recommend against IVing, especially prescription pills. Are you micron filtering?

There will be no significant withdrawal symptoms if you are used to heroin withdrawals.

The crash is awful, and it causes cocaine-like compulsive redosing.

yeah, i'm done with this shit. not worth it really. ive already been a junkie in the past don't need to become a crackhead as well lol.

Assuming he's extracting them with alcohol, the binders and fillers and shit would be much less of a concern - only the active drug and a few other alcohol solubles like certain dyes and sugars will be extracted

Micron filtering is probably still a good idea, but there will be considerably less harmful particulate in an alcohol extract than a whole pill crushed up.
