Hi there!
I've been using IV drugs for a while, heroin for a couple of years then came off and now very very occasionally on again but not H.
I've been seeing more and more about filtration with some kind of wheel? And something else? I was wondering where you can get these, how to use them and how they work.
Also does any one know about the benefits or lack of benefits of heating your mix? I don't whack pills but I saw a thread on here highly advising against it, I will be showing that to a mate who rants about it.
Any advise would be good... I'm no newbie to IV and I'm no junkie but I've been seeing more and more about harm reduction and was wondering if ppl could tell me about it.

Cheers.

Wheel filters. They're fairly easy to use, you filter your shot the normal way with a cotton, then put a wheel filter on the end of the needle and squeeze it back out through the filter, it removes all of the binders and insoluble crap they put in pills. Then suck the solution back up into a clean needle and shoot it.

I get mine from a needle exchange that hands them out for free, but I've been told not all exchanges do that, so maybe call around and see if you can find one. If not, they should be available online. Definitely worth looking into if you shoot pills.

As far as I know, it's completely unnecessary. Opiates are completely water soluble, so all you do by heating it is cause more of the cuts and fillers to get absorbed into your shot, and then into your body, increasing the amount of damage caused.

IV never whacked pills and after reading one of the threads I will definitely forget my friends suggestion... I do gear instead always use a fresh fit and saline to dilute just to be anal lol any exchanges in wa? Kim newish to wa and don't honestly knowvthe scene over here

I'm not in WA, but I'm sure there are plenty of exchanges there, try googling it.

i'm pretty confident crankinit is referring to the cotton filters supplied in the sharps kits given out by exchanges and sold in pharmacies. they're essentially a rolly filter which only filter out particulate over ~0.8µm in size (don't quote me on that, i'm trying to find where i read that now) while wheel filters and microns will filter out particulate half to quadruple in size, leaving a much safer end solution to inject.

cotton filters are generally used to filter a solution before then filtering it through a finer sized filter. it filters our the larger coarse particulates that can clog a micron otherwise (esp with larger volume solutions).

check out this link for what a micron filter looks like and how they are used. you can also google them. this also has links to online stores which sell microns along with plenty of other products.
