IV pod tea?

^ my thoughts too.

Could have been a drop of blood from some raw meat possibly. Thats the only common house-hold occurance I can think of that would leave animal blood behind, besides the house pet being injured, but then that shouldnt leave any blood on the surface of wherever you are prepping your shot. Im really interested to read those stories.

I have heard that Chernaia is sometimes made with blood, animal or human I am not sure....

^ I highly doubt that.

Because Russian homemade heroin, called chernaia, is sometimes made with blood, it seemed possible that HIV was being transmitted through the heroin itself, and therefore harm reduction programs such as needle exchanges would be ineffective in Russia. However, Heimer's research indicated that HIV cannot be transmitted through the blood in chernaia, and, in fact, HIV prevalence rates are higher in those Russian cities where locally made chernaia has been replaced by commercial heroin.

"heroin made with blood"
Wtf? Anyone know anything more on this. Why would blood ever be used to manufacture heroin?

"polish homemade"
That's called "kompot", and is similar to poppy pod tea. It was popular in the eastern bloc during the cold war, when heroin may have been harder to come across. Also, poppies are natively grown and used in that region, so its discovery and use isn't a stretch.

It was basically crudely extracted alkaloids from the pods and straws. It typically contained a bunch of alkaloids(morphine, codeine, thebaine, paparavine). From my understanding, the final product was usually a solution and was typically IV'ed, which would obviously be very dangerous.

I never meant to say that is the sole reason you cant IV pod tea. Im well aware its not, I was just stating it as one of the minor issues that could be reason enough to not want to do it.

Also, not everyone has access to micron filters. Ive been a heroin addict for a little less than 4 years (i know its not super long) and I have never even seen one.

No, of course, not trying to diminish what you said. Iving a big chunk o' nasty into your veins will definitely kill you, a protein or few will just make it real nasty and is survivable. Of course smaller particulate matter may end up being no trouble at all, trouble down the road, etc.

But particulate matter is not a big obstacle. IV oxycontin pills has been said to be as safe as injecting street heroin if you process it correctly, which isn't too much at all.

I've never seen micron filters either but I do know what they are and how to get them. Never had a reason to get them though.

If particulate matter was the only reason IV pod tea was bad though, I would've stopped using heroin a loooong time ago though. It's not hard to remove particulate, just use a few coffee filters, a few microns, a filter-syringe where you load cottons in it and squirt up, then squirt back out.

Particulate is not the reason PPT is not possible, because it's not hard to remove. It's because of all the foreign proteins in it that will make your body go into hyperdrive.

You need to give me a link to [stories of people injecting animal blood]. I have to read it. That sounds terrible.

It was a while since I read it, but search Drug Culture for "wife spilled heroin cooking". It may be in archives, it was a while back.

Basically story is this: Man wants to inject heroin before dinner. His wife is cooking turkey dinner and in and about the kitchen. Man preps his shot in the kitchen and spills a bit out the spoon. He looks down, sees a brown liquid under the spoon, and sucks it up. Shoots up, 5 minutes later he's going into convulsions. He makes it out just fine, but it turns out that the little liquid he sucked up was a bit of turkey juice his wife spilled a bit of when cooking.

There's more than one such incident occuring but this is the one I had in mind when I said that. Every single incident posted (and not posted) of cotton fever is the same principle: foreign protein/bacteria/'agent' in the body that gets attacked by antibodies, your bodies anti-immune system goes into hyperdrive, and you end up feeling like total shit.

And stop ragging on the OP. The first thread I posted when I joined Bluelight was "How to Inject Percocet" and "How to inject Mushrooms/salvia/anytihng". I was a bit of a needle fiend when I first joined like the OP too, and, like many of us, prefer and love the rush, onset, and the whole pharmacokinetics that is only true to Intravenous drug use. I've IV'd MDXX, LSD, Alcohol, Ketamine, Oxycontin, Crack, all sorts of drugs not commonly associated with IV but was possible to. I've learned it's even possible to IV 4-HO-DMT, aka Mushrooms, if processed correctly.

You'd be suprised what you can IV. Curiosity is fine, just answer the question. There was once a time someone asked "Can you IV heroin/cocaine/morphine?" and was considered loony.

Besides the fact that poppy pod tea contains items you do not want to iv, such as codeine and organic matter, you also have to take its concentration into account. It is typically highly diluted. That was one of the points of "kompot." It was a concentrated solution.

All in all, it's fair to say that IVing pills is safer than iv'ing poppy pod tea.

Im not saying you are wrong, but that sort of sounds like propoganda to me. Even if heroin was made with blood, the time between it was made and injected into the end user, the virus would be dead. It cant survive in conditions outside the human body for very long at all. Still, if this is true, I wouldnt touch it with your veins.

Cool info, I didnt know that much about it.

Thats what I figured. I thought it would have to have been someone prepping a shot on the same surface they prep food.

And whoa man, I wasnt ragging on him. I even told him in my second post in this thread that I completely understood it was a hypothetical question and I never meant to imply I was giving him any shit. I gave him as straight an aswer I could. I had nothing against what he asked, and tried to answer the best I could without being an ass about it, when it would have been easy to, but uneccessary because its a completely valid question.

If your comment wasnt directed at me, then I apologize and go ahead and disregard that.

I never claimed that the HIV virus could be spread by using this type of heroin, only that it does/did exist.

Phrozen - I am looking for the article from my grad sosc. class where we discussed this, I can't seem to find it atm. It discussed, in depth, the process that was commonly used for making it. I believe it was discussed on Bluelight back in 2002, but I can't seem to find it!

EDIT: Remember, we are not talking about traditional heroin here either!

ya i read about this too. its seen in russia as mentioned but i think in some ex soviet bloc countries like kazakstan, and places like this. especially now with the afghan heroin travelling through there making alot of addicts.

all i read about was an addict who injected a "homemade poppy extract"

yah well mmm. i better idea is to just eat the ground up pods. ive had more luck that way then with the tea. PODS rank right up there with the best legal highs

eating the ground pods works well, ime, though at this point I only use poppy for pain relief and diarrhea. The pod ground whole seem to have a natural slow release effect, that the pod tea does not.
