Alright so the thing is I have IV'd Opana 40mg before without taking off the coating first or any preparation beyond crushing the pill up well in water prior to injection. There is usually a lot of powder left which I assume is a result of the extended release coating, however that powder is still usable and acts as kind of just a big wash in a way to me. So my question is: Since I've been fine using this method and gotten satisfactory results, is there any substantial reason not to IV Opana this way?

Opana 40 mg ER's are easy enough to take the coating off of. It's like peeling a potato. I'll admit, it takes about 5 minutes to peel the coating off, but I think it's worth it. And I'm not even IV'ing, but if I were, I would DEFINITELY take it off. Those little coating flakes, if you ever watch them in a suspension of water, Keep their shape and size. I would imagine they break up while going through the needle, but that's still a suspended solid entering your bloodstream, which can be dangerous. I don't know exactly what the health problems would be of you doing this, but wouldn't you rather just take the 5 minutes to peel them with a nice sharp knife, just to be safe?

I get 10 mg Opana ER and found a decent way to bang em. It takes about 10 minutes. I put a bit of water in a spoon and heat the pill slightly (it helps the coating come off easier) roll it around and rub the coating off...crush it. .put in shot glass with water (I usually use sterile saline) mix. It'll get goopy and look like c*m..filter what you can via cotton (I've never tried micron) put a piece of cotton in a bigger rig (I use 10ml)...add mixture and more water and push the mixture thro the cotton. What comes out is a clear liquid that's pretty thin compared to the goop. Transfer to new rig, tie off....wala!
