Heroin IV now all swollen and red

Just did morning shot and I drew blood then pushed 4 bags into my arm ...it turned all swollen and red!!!! Ahh someone help what did I do !?!?

Edit: I didn't feel the shot at all I had to rail 4 bags after!! FML
 
You missed.. In between registering and pushing the plunger down you most likely slipped out of the vein.. This is why it helps to re-register halfway thru the shot.

Be careful re-dosing immediately, as the drugs WILL still absorb either subcutaneously or intramuscularly. You won't get a rush but they will still enter your sysem.
 
Yeah you definitely missed. Put a hot compress on it for 15-20 minutes, massaging the area gently. This will help break down and disperse the drug that is lingering in your tissue surrounding the vein. After that, an ice pack will help get rid of the swelling. Try and be more careful in the future.. if it burns at all when injecting, pull out and try again.

Also, pay close attention to the area for the next few days. If it doesn't get any better or gets worse, go see a doctor.
 
its going down now thanks guys! It was 6 bas so the shot was huge, and so was the swelling it was terrible I was so worried!
 
That's good to hear it has improved. It's not hard for a missed shot to get infected and turn into an abscess, which is bad news. In order to avoid such a scenario in the future, I suggest brushing up on your IV techniques. There are plenty of great threads on here which detail what to do/not do. In terms of harm reduction I can't recommend IVing drugs in the first place, but if you choose to, it is best to do so as safely as possible. As with anything, practice makes perfect.
 
Obviously you missed your shot? What else? Did you really have to ask? Also how did your shot go from being 4 bags to 6 bags?

I don't get how people miss unless they are shooting coke. Do you not feel a burning sensation? What a genuine waste of dope.
