Hey guys

I have a syringe with a needle and that's about it. Do I really need some sort of "filter" to IV MScontin? What harm could be caused for not using one?

EDIT: I have 5ml syringes.
 
Yes you absolutely need a filter. If you don't have a micron filter the next best thing is a cotton packed syringe, but that requires a second syringe. Failing both of those you can use a cotton just in the spoon, or a cigarette filter.

But continuous release pills aren't good to iv. And not using a filter could fucking kill you, it would be really easy to suck up particulate matter.
 
Ohhhhhhh ya. Definitely use at least a cotton in the spoon if that's your only choice. I'm sure you have q-tips somewhere around the house, or... At the VERY least a piece of cigarette filter. You don't want to go no filter, not a good idea at all
 
Crush it to a dust in a spoon. Put in 80 units and mix mix and smash. Draw through a cotton filter (solution will be cloudy still). Push the solution into another spoon and use a new cotton to draw it up. Solution should be relatively clear now, repeat filtering again if needed. This is as safe as you can get without using a micron or just eating it.

You will get higher for longer if you eat it, but the rush from those is fun IV but has no legs. Some people hate the pins and needles, I loved it.

Save the filters and when ready, throw them all in a spoon with 80 units and smash them and mix them. Quite a bit of morphine is in them still and well worth using. Be sure to not let them sit for long to avoid bacteria growth. Best to leave them in a dry area until use.

Have fun, be careful, and realize that IVing these is dangerous so filter filter filter! Vien damage as well as serious lung problems can and will develope.
 
Please do some research before doing something like this.. You clearly don't even know the bare basics (like using a filter), which to me is insane if you're actually thinking of IV'ing anything without knowing.

Read the IV thread in my signature and use the search engine to find at least the basic information.

This is risky. Moist cotton is a perfect enviroment for bacterial growth, and IIRC, increases the risk of cotton fever, or worse, big time.

There may be a way to extract the goodies immediately and store them safely, but I am not sure what the proper procedure would be.

P.S. Perhaps if one is dead set on reusing them, storing them in the freezer would help reduce bacterial growth? Semi-educated guess here....please don't take this is fact without looking into it.
 
mscontin has such an abuse proof formula its damn near impossible to do it without frusteration and work, yes the pills crush easy into fine powder, but it gels and waxed up the minute u squirt water all on it, i reccommend a 1cc needle, and throw 100CCs on it, cuz u know the water will dig into the waxy shit, if ur lucky, the wax will leak water with traces of morphine with it, keep doing it over and over..but its a waste..i was IVING INSTANT RELEASE MORPHINE, and i wasnt even getting a rush, it felt like an oral onset but quicker, i think if the drug isnt hydrochloride based, it isnt going to give u that bang, morphine sulphate is a salt with less abuse potential
 
^ the freezer is the best bet. It's still by no means safe, but storing them in the freezer does at least help. A lot of the risk goes into how you prep them though, like if you heat or mash them excessively it's just not good news.

Whatman filters are the best, sterifilters are also acceptable.

Either way, filter your solution before injecting into a vein. The pills contain more than just the drug, but fillers like talc which can deposit into your lungs and cause arrested breathing, among other things.
 
"ice shaking" is the best method for shooting pills, ice water works way more efficently, popular belief is water and heat =not for all drugs
 
mscontins are ridiculously dangerous to I.V. Your just going to be wasting it because it will gel up. Plug it.
 
From my experience, try for the ABG brand of morphine if going for ER and set on IV. It's the only one you don't have to heat and push gel out of the way... In my experience. A lot is left is the spoon, which is a good thing.
 
Morphine sulphate has a solubility of 60mg/ml in water at room temperature. For the 100mg tablets you should use 2mls water and a 5ml syringe is the easiest to work with.
 
and yes, i would have to squirt a whole 1CC syringe on it just to push 30units...so add lots of water..just aint worth it still..just aint ,, for me (30mg IR)
 
i used to get the orange reddish colored 60mg ones and they would sniff ok, but the one time i tried to IV i was left with a pile of goo. sucked too bc it was the last one i grabbed and really wanted a good hit. everythihng just seemed too involved with booting them so i just stuck with H, and thats from someone who loves IV morphine. id just bump them.

Really? What type of issues? MS IR 15mg and 30mg tablets in my experience have been some of the cleanest, most efficient 'source' of morphine besides of course, morphine solutions for injection which are the easiest to work with because you can use any ROA you want, you can even be extremely wasteful if you want and try to snort morphine....

This ^ post hits the nail on the head rather perfectly. Although I might add that I have had much better luck with 10mL syringes instead of standard (by tricomb's standard's anyways, ha) 5mL rigs. Morphine's a killer drug (pun intended) and if you do not respect it, it will put the fear of God into you and if you're not careful, it will put you in your place, Heavens forbid it be 6 feet deep. It's usually got a massive histamine response too so take an antihistamine that you're used to so it won't be too sedating (some people get really sedated from antihistamines, I've seen it).

no , i know snorting is trash and lower BA, IDK, i have to squirt a whole 1cc rig on 1 (30mg) IR morphine, and all i draw up is .30CCs of morphine, with mad left over wet powder,so i keep squirting more water to get more morphine dissolved, would heating with a lighter help dissolve the morphine in water? i saw on a documentary some girl dropped a morphine pill on a spoon, and boiled the water and the whole pill literally dissolved into liquid on the spoon, but i never tried heat, i avooid heat when IVing pills cuz in my experience it only made dissolving worse..

Ms contin is easy to iv. Just put alcohol in a cooker and light it. Heat your morphine and water mix with that. It burns at a lower temp. Personally I always preferred kadian. It is much easier to get a pinning hit on that.
