Bupe IV Help With Suboxone - possible missed shot?

Okay so just a quick question about missed shots. I IVed about .5 mg of suboxone into the larger vein ontop of my hand, mainly because the skin there doesnt stretch and i can insert needle much easier. Its my 3rd time in that vein and all in different spots on that vein. Anyways i hit and shot it in but when i pulled out a bit of blood came out. Not alot but more than usual; but then i realized i still had my tie on my arm. Well when all said and done my vein was a bit swollen, not alot at all. I was wondering if i missed the shot or if it just did that becuase i left the tie on too long. Sorry im quite new to IV.

Well do you haev a swollen lump or just a little tiny painless bump or something?

You have to actually push when you are out of the vein.. the plunger will not move freely..and yes you would have instant burn. Chances are you just expangded your vein, if anything a little solution leaked out becuase you didn't take the tie off right away. This is not the way to do it..but I do have a friend who leaves his tie on and injects his 15unit shot then unties righ tafter hes done injecting and lets it flow.. he never get a histamine reaction or lump or leakeage.. he loses his vein if he doesnt keep the tie on atleast loosely.

Rather then using 3 spots on the same vein you should use a competely different vein every shot.

Oh god, I used to do what your friend did MS4104, when I was shooting cocaine no less. That led to some Nast bruising, but I also would finish a shot before taking the tie off. I can't believe it took me two years to find out how to inject drugs without a tourniquet.

And yeah, you made a good point, if you're out of the vein, you're gonna get a lot of resistance when pushing down on the plunger (I've noticed that especially with buprenorphine for some reason.)

And to the OP,
Have you lost all the veins in your arms? Because you should use those instead of your hands if you can.

Try not to use a tourniquet if you don't have to. You said that you are new to IVing, so you might be able to get away with not using one. I IV only a couple times a month, but have never used a tourniquet. This way there is less chance of slipping out of the vein when you go to loosen it after registering.

Yeah man I have been spacing out my usage more ad more and my veins are thanking me for it.. I can hit em all wwithout a tourney but after like a binge ill need to keep it a lil tight.

But like if its been a few weeks I can just be chillin pop da pin in and BAM WAM UNCLESAM

Actually i figured it was probably because i have reused the same rig. I dont have another one so at the time i had uaed it three times.

^^
thats pretty bad for your vien not to mention it will leave nasty tracks. Im guilty of shooting with the tourniquette still on im just not cordinated enough to get it off while staying in the vien.

Yeah dude that is HORRIBLE for your veins (reusing pins). A pin shoudl never peirce the skin more than once. I destroy the tip as soon as I pull the nedle out my arm so I cant reuse it.

Is it really that bad? The first and second shot were painless with little or no problems. And i used it a fourth time without any problems. However tbe fifth time hurt when pulling out and i destrohed the rig afterwards and havent IVed since.

Although it might get expensive in the long run, try to use always new syringe + needle while shooting something. I´ve ruined my both bend in arms for the big veins by missusing. Go thru the thread about correct Iving and You´ll start to do everything properly. Then there isn´t that much problems. Try to use different vein in every shot. If you use stuff daily like I do, one vein gets bad quite fast. Then it´s over for that and you´ll have a mark for the rest of your life in spot.

My hands are fine now. They did have a slight bruised feeling for like four or five days. They look fine and no marks. And you said that a rig shouldnt pierce the skin more than once??? Wholly fuck then i probably ripped my veins apart because it bring my first time IVing alone i tried to hit in my visible veins in my arms like twenty times but the skin would stretch to much making it painful. Yeah i probably peirced my skin a total of 15 times till i found that the tight skin on my hand was soo much easier but even then i still would not register maybe once or twice each time i tried to hit.

Is it really that bad?

See for yourself.

That picture freaked me out when i first saw it a few months ago on here...I had re-used them many, many times...Specially when they were impossible in my small country town to buy.. I had a "stash" of used fits for an emergency, and threw them away when i saw this...I was terribly addicted to about {mega amount} mg of oxy a day and went through ALOT of needles...Nowadays i would never reuse for a third time..2 hits max per fit...Only thanks to this very picture though!!

I think everyone in their right mind stopped reusing (or you're like me, and always used a new sterile rig) rigs after they saw this pic.

When I first saw this I was so glad I had gone to the trouble of always finding a new rig even if it meant driving a few minutes out of my way to stop by the pharmacy.

It should be put up somewhere where everyone has to see it...I realised they blunted easily/quickly but when (i think it was El-Capitan who posted it in one of my threads a few months back) I saw it i was amazed, disgusted and a few other things..I have re-sharpened my own before...That was bad..Would be good for all to see..It is a profound picture..

There's a good thread on here about safe injecting habits that I suggest you read.
I can't link it on this post, but if you do a very simple search, you will find it.

I also used to reuse my needles before seeing that picture - now I break the needle off into the cap after every shot to ensure I don't use it again. Huge difference. So glad I have a busy, friendly Walmart nearby who always sell to me.

eta: I used to get those bumps at my injection site before I learned how to untie before the shot. Took some practice tho, I'm rather clumsy.
