IV veins disappear

Hey guys I really need some help here I've been IVing for a long time but it's come to the point where I have to shoot in my hands and my feet cuz no other veins stick out etc I need help because I'm doing everything as protocol but I'm not registering any blood in my usual spots and the tourniquet isnt making my veins pop up so what are some things I can do at this point? I heard drinking water makes your veins more available etc ..please help ASAP :(

Take a break from even trying those spots that have disappear... for like 2 weeks... dont even think about touching them with a needle and a few prime real estates should open up. until then: try muscling? look for veins on your feet, ankles... Go rectally cause it's basically the same BOA. But if you want those veins to come back make sure you leave them alone, drink water, exercise and massage the areas you'd like to return.

now this isn't a sure thing, I have veins I haven't hit in 7 years that are officially DEAD!! Hard, useless things... but I rotate my sites of injection so I never run out of arm spots and don't have to resort to my hands and feet etc etc

Good Luck

I actually got an abscess from IMing a dilaudid ..worst experience ever I had only used the needle once or twice at most and was trying to hit a vein and was failing..finally I stuck the needle in my upper arm and put it in me ..over the course of the next 4 days my arm swelled up and developed a nasty abscess I had to get surgery for ..apparently even though the needle had only been used once or twice the fact that it was sitting in a bag in my bathroom it managed to have some remnants of E. coli on it ..so disgusting and I'm not a dirty person by any means so just a word of caution plz be careful if you do that ..I would rather drink my own blood if I can't make a shot than IM it ever again

A year or so back I was slamming H and destroyed all the easy spots around the other side of the elbow area so now I shoot in my hands and my ankles are dead ...feet are too hard I can't seem to hit my feet right but what I did today was I took a hot shower and made my tourniquet tighter and found a few veins in my hands I hadn't seen before

adding heat is good, keeping hydrated is SUPER important, and when I'm hitting friends with bad veins I make them chug a glass of water and do five pushups before I will even touch them. Thems the rules, sorry bro.

In your case, make sure you're going as parallel with the vein as possible, not going through the vein (this sometimes means switching to a smaller gauge and a shorter needle and adapting your technique a little. When you pull back to register only do it a tiny little bit and hold the suction til you register; too much suction can easily cause vein collapse. And if you see pink frothy blood, pull out IMMEDIATELY as you've hit an artery.
