Opioids IV first time... some advice

First of all I know you will tell me not to do it. But I really wanna experience the rush, plus the gear in england is crap so smoking a 20 bag does nothing.

I want to be safe pretty much. I have clean needles. Now how do I mix it? How do i stop crap going into the needle then into the needle.

Basicaly I need a beginners guide to IVing. I understand I'll have to mix it with something acidic like lemon juice but thats about it.

Well I've never shot up but I know one thng for sure: you need to use a filter. That is how you fix this problem: "How do i stop crap going into the needle then into the needle."

I imagine if you searched "IV guide" you'd find everything you need.

get yourself a syringe filter. i suggest 0.2 micron made with a NYLON membrane.

These are re-usable several times, until the filter becomes clogged, or the membrane tears.

i buy mine of e-bay, and usually find 10 packs that run from 1.50$ - 2.00$ per filter. IMHO it's well worth it to spend the little extra cash on the filters, because they make even shooting up pills less harmful. Anything bigger than 0.2 microns will be filtered out (solid particulates and bacteria, not viruses though).

Do yourself a favour, and get some filters. If i treat them right i can get 15 - 25 uses out of a single filter. My veins and my lungs are eternally grateful that i have decided to purchase these filters and not shoot up anything without them. That being said, get a supply of fresh clean sterile syringes, and lots and lots of luer lock needles. that way, if you miss the vein and can't register, you can pull out, snap on a fresh needle, and try again. I know this sounds silly, but believe me when i say this is the only way you avoid doing lasting permanent damage to your body. Needles by themselves are cheap (price is in the xx cents range), and you really have no excuse for using a needle twice.

Hmm the guy i get my gear off is very nice. Took a lot of convincing for him to even give me a needle. He gave me a fully sterilized set of stuff. Need, spoon, filter and saline and citric acid powder (coz gear is shit here), all in packets fully sterilized. I only tried a bit. I think thats it for now. It's not the 100x orgasm that people say. Maybe i didnt do enough. Anyways i did enough for me.

So thats that. I main lined. Didnt OD. Enjoyed it. Was safe. Dont feel like picking up another needle for a loooooong time.

Missions success would you say guys? in terms of not getting hooked (hopesies!) and trying something new out. Harm Reduction wise I was very safe, everything was sterile and good. My foot aint gonna fall off

Infact guys theres a fair amount of swelling around the vein in my foot... i think i definatly hit the vein. It isnt an allergic reaction i know that... is it just due to the crap the cut the H with? Or was I just not very careful in injecting?

You hit the vein, but there's a good amount of swelling? I'd think you'd better reconsider the thought of your foot not falling off..

It's a lot harder to slip out of the veins in the foot. If you're injecting for the first time, there is no reason not to use your arms. Aside from the veins being really difficult on the foot, you also carry a greater risk of infection, as the blood flow is much slower down there.

Morning... swelling has gone and it just feels bruised. Maybe I didnt hit the vein... but I did get a rush when it went in. I didnt inject a huge amount because 1) I didnt have the balls and 2) if injecting a large amount is as good as it sounds i dont want to experience it... heroin is the last thing I want to be addicted to. I did smoke some afterwards.

I'm just not gonna mess about with needles... i think many of you will agree. Infact I'm done with heroin. It feels too dirty. I have had better highs off of opiate pharms... I've tried brown 5 times and really don't think it's worth it - god knows what it's cooked with (i live in england... renowned for it's crappy heroin.) Especially meeting the sketchy geezers that sell it, theyre probly more dangerous than the drug itself.

Tbh I was smoking a few pipes of crack with a friend when i was a coke head and we got better highs from flake. I think I'll stick to Buddhism and tee-total again. (apart from hallucinogenics)

Good luck on staying the path and congrats on not going back to the needle!

As the other guy said, avoid injecting into your foot/legs. I've never mainlined, but my friends that did always told me that was a bad idea. If you ever get the idea of trying again please use an area with less risk, I suggest the arm as the other poster did.

I hope that you don't try to mainline again, and stay away from the opiates for your own good. But if you're going to continue using please be safe about it! I understand you probably didn't want to inject into the arm because you didn't want people seeing the marks but it isn't worth losing a foot over is it? Also, I doubt a one time affair of injecting into your arm would leave much of a mark after a couple of days anyway. Its the chronic users that typically have that problem!

One last thing of note: No matter how "shitty" the H is in your area never assume its all crap. Each new bag you get should be tested at a low dose before attempting to catch a nod off of it. A LOT of people have died getting a product that was more pure than what they were used to. In fact, in my local area a lot of people were murdered that way about 20 years ago. My father lost six of his friends on the same night because they were given H that was very pure and told it was the usual stuff, so they all injected their usual dose right off and all of them ODed and never woke up. I know you're spending a ton of money on this stuff, but it ain't worth not checking the purity before going all the way. Never trust what your source tells you, always do a low test dose before trying to have any fun. For all you know the dealer could have mixed up the bags and given you something else by mistake, I've seen that happen a lot in my 10 years of use.

Well yeah... I understanfd I dont know the strength of the gear... thats why i injected a small amount. I can see how this can destroy lives. I already had my 23 years on this planet pissed all over by an alcohol addiction.

Best I stay away. I injected coke before ad had a huge bruise that my parents noticed as a track mark.

Thats why i went for my foot. I think what has happened is that half went in and half didnt (as in skin poppped i think is the word)

I have a lot of emotional problems, I am gonna stay away from heroin because i am playing with fire... tbh it was a stupid move even to smoke it let alone try injecting. I just found I got more from pharms than street heroin. I think im gonna have to let the shit hit the fan with my drug councilor and make sure I keep this in check.

My foot hurts like shit but there is not swelling, everything was 100% sterile. Do you guys think i missed the vein? The rush was nothing like i expected and it swelled up immediatley, and hurt like shit. Not like getting a shot from the doctor. I just put it down to not being very good at injecting.

Now my second question is if i have missed the vein will it just soak through? or do i need to see my doctor? The swelling went down. What do i need look out for if things have gone bad...

Look for redness and swelling around the injection site as well as heat. The fact that the swelling went down is a good thing, but i would keep an eye on it anyway. Antibiotic creams should be applied if you have any. Keep the area clean, wash your foot every day and wear clean socks. That is about all you can do at the moment, but if it gets worse and infection is suspected, take yourself into the emergency.
