Heroin IV Black Tar Heroin Consistancy

So I've been using heroin for about 10 years now and been shooting for about 8 of those years... I live in the Southwest so I get black tar heroin, only, never seen anything else. I've always judged the strength of my heroin shot by the darkness and transparency of the shot after it's been drawn up. The darker - the stronger, the "thicker" looking - the stronger. I've always gone off of this. Well today I went thru a new connect and all my friends have said this dope is the strongest they have EVER done in their lives. So I pick it up and do my taster shot (1/2 of what I usually do) the dope cooks up and it's SUPER cut like scary cut with this gooey substance that doesn't dry and the shot is very transparent and light brown. I do my shot and I get a real nice rush, not as strong as it should've been from the amount I did. I then proceeded to do 75% of what I usually do. The shot is darker but I can still see through it (which has always been a sign of not strong dope ime) but low and behold I get a rush and I throw up (first time in years!)

So I'm curious, other black tar heroin users: How do you judge your dopes strength when you IV it? Have you ever come across similar dope as me? Any information regarding the consistency/color/thickness/transparency/etc would really be helpful cause this dope is baffling me!!!

Black tar and Heroin in general usually contains varying amounts of 3,6-Diacetylmorphine (Heroin), Morphine, 6-Monoacetylmorphine (6-MAM), 3-Monoacetylmorphine (3-MAM) and occasionally other opium alkaloids like Codeine and their acetylated products. These vary a lot and so colour and consistency can vary and be indicative of: alkaloid content, or of cut content. The problem is you really can't tell whether the darkness of your shot is because of more good stuff or more of some cut, and vice versa.

So try to judge by taking well filtered tester shots with each batch you get, and if you experience anything unusually strong and too short lasting, throw it out as it may contain a Fentanyl analogue as a cut to make it stronger. If you experience unusually strong dope that's definitely just dope, then proceed but with a low dose only, and if it's normal strength or weak, well you know the rest.

Judging it is hard but it's not impossible. I used to bulls-eye womp rats in my T-16 back home. They're not much bigger than two meters.

Taste your shot- if you use the same volume of water you will know from one tiny drop on the tongue. When I was using this never failed, but I never had fent dope and forgot how bitter the fent solution was.

I used various forms of tar… from Sf that's all we mostly got over here. So many different types. Sometimes a tiny amount would knock me flat, other times I would need a double dose depending on which dealer I bought from. I used to do geographics between districts and dealers
The vinegar smell and taste used to give it away.. and consistency if it started to melt and what it looked like, bubbling on the foil, but it truly varies. Sometimes it can look and smell perfect and be totally bunk.

I used to shoot it but mostly smoked it… as it was the quickest roa. Throw it down on the foil, light up and boom, instant.. Done! And less overdose chance smoking, unless I had subs or methadone in my system. Although I was smoking like 1-2 grams a day 8(
