god,
it's raining and i should've been prepared for this.
i don't know what it does to me,
but i'd be a lost cause for sure in london or seattle.
but i love the smell of rain-
it doesn't bring back sour memories or bittersweet goodbyes like the sunshine does.
the droplets, now drying
on my window and on the sidewalks and streets
just make this feeling seem a little more
real.
i can't see the sun,
but i don't really like the daytime hours anyway.
the stars are where my hopes are found,
the stars are where my dreams rest
effortlessly.
but now, i'm sucking in the afternoon showers
and the early evening pre party painlessness
i've found myself to be so fond of recently.
this little mound of semi-sweet sin
that is swallowed or snorted and snuck into bathroom stalls
past unknowing acquaintances-
who smile and squint and stand around feeling special
in their pageant gowns and sashes.
it's starting to rain again.
sometimes i feel as though the clouds are here
to drain me-
and instead of drowning me in a flood of emotions
they want me to swallow it all
and poison myself,
subconsciously committing suicide.
