ITS ON! christmas CD swap: the aftermath

isn't the whole idea to not know what you're going to get? i think half the fun of it would be getting a cd you thought was completely tragic!
 
yeah no i do agree, as much as i'd *like* to pick and choose people with music taste i agree with (notice how careful i was to not say good) it would be more fun to get music that you've never heard of, or in a completely masochistic way, hate...

bring it on suckers - i'll take you on....errr...i mean.....i'll make you a lovely christmas cd to soothe your jangled nerves! :D
 
Yeah I think it would be better if you got CDs that were totally different to your taste!

I'd do this except I still owe tnargus three CDs from over a year ago so I can't see myself getting around to it. Plus I would procrastinate for so long about what to put on... it would consume me I swear. ;)
 
Yes, definitely put me down. I'd prefer a tragic CD tbh, or someone's totally different taste.

I already did this idea and sent a CD to Shnouzerpuff, full of all his old favourites: Take That, Backstreet Boys, Blue, Mariah Carey and even the wonderful T.A.T.U.

Apparently he listens to it all the time

Is there a track limit?

You can fit a HELL of a lot of tracks onto a cd depending on bit rate etc.

I've got a smeg load of music here and there is absolutely zero percent chance of me limiting myself to 20 tracks or so... that would kill me. Too much thought required ;)

Oh yeah, and is there a format issue? Roughly 90% of my music is ripped as .wma instead of .mp3 which shouldn't be a problem for most people... but hey...

I think it would work better if the cds were made to be an audio cd and not an mp3 cd etc. I know if a cd turned up on my doorstep with 5000 techno mp3s I would be much less likely to give it a listen than a cd of someones carefully chosen 20 something tracks.

Sounds like an interesting idea nonetheless.

I'm keen.

there is no track limit, just a minimum of 1 CD per person, if you want a double CD then send double....

But be warned Im still living in the age where grunge is cool so you might get a CD full of ramones and Bad Religion Tracks

I may or may not add a random track of myself singing Jingle Bells or even Rudolf the Red Nosed Reindeer so be prepared.... ;)

you know, call me paranoid, but sending my address to a dude I've not met that lives in WA, the state of raids, seems like a stupid idea.
Drawing people out of a hat and swapping directly sounds much more reasonable imo
 
Self preservation :)

There are personas on this board which I would place more trust in (ie. those that are known by others, those who I have seen in the pic thread etc.) than others.

I don't profess to be the most private person here (as can be attested to by my photo posting and such), but my address, seriously now...
Other people live here also.

what do you want to know? but if you really dont trust me, then dont, its as simple as that....
