ITI-002

ITI-002 refers to a novel family of compounds that are potent inhibitors aimed at potentiating the dopamine signal in dopamine target neurons. The target enzyme regulated by ITI-002 is part of the D1 dopamine receptor signaling pathway, which plays a critical role in working memory processes that are involved in maintaining and manipulating information in the mind. These processes guide higher-level behavior and high-level cognition, such as language, problem solving and reasoning.

Preclinical data showed these compounds demonstrate activity, which may be used to treat disorders, such as the cognitive dysfunction in schizophrenia and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and the cognitive deficits arising from Parkinson¹s and Alzheimer¹s Diseases. ITI-002 also may be useful in treating the motor deficits arising in Parkinson¹s disease.
 
And, interestingly there are several different ITI's: ITI-007, ITI-722, ITI-002, ITI-003, ITI-009. They are wide variety of medicines treating problems from insomnia to hormonal imbalance.

ITI 002 is probably the most interesting one of those from the perspective of ours. I couldn't find any molecular structure model of ITI-002... it would be interesting to see, if it has any resemblance to more familiar dopamine reuptake inhibitors. I guess they are not like those because they aim "at potentiating the dopamine signal in dopamine target neurons" by regulating some definite enzyme which is part of the D1 dopamine receptor signaling pathway.
 
very guarded by the pharma looking to pursue this

the company has patents for PDE1-Is so i think this may be one as i think that enzyme may actually play a role in that manner at D1R, but I am not sure
 
thanks, iti-002 is appearently the only interesting product from them.
at least for those of us who don't suffer from fully established parkinsons or alzheimers.
