I found it interesting

I recently came across this interesting fact that all lovers of vikes
are bound to be fascinated by. Back in 1951 when knoll first got the
ok to market their new painkiller hydrocodone and acetaminophen they
were faced with the task of deciding a brand name for the compound. An
interprising young executive in advertising came up with the solution.
He knew that hydrocodone would be touted as being 6 times as potent as
codeine in the medical literature so he suggested using the roman
numeral six (VI) + codeine and calling it vicodin!!!! The rest is
history!!
Also lasix is named as such because it LAsts six hours! Anyone know
any other similar stories??

the term "roofies" doesn't come from the brand name Rohypnol as most people believe, but from the fact that it was originally brought into the states (because it has never been FDA approved) by Mexican roofers working in FLA and Texas
there is a long history behind the drug name "Soma," too long to post
