Opioids Itchy Hands

I awoke in the middle of the night with terribly itchy hands. the palms, the backs, in between my fingers, everything. and it would not go away. I am a generally nervous person so I never have any finger nails left to scratch an itch (bitten off). So I was left feelin a bit wierd biting and scratching at my hands with my teeth. I am a regular heroin user on methadone (36mg). Used yesterday, not irregulary, earlier in the day. I went to bed as normal after taking a .1 clonodine. Any idea what would cause this? It went away eventually like nothing.

Most opiates make you itchy due to the histamine release. Just get yourself an OTC anti-histamine like diphenhydramine and all should be swell

Could be from shooting into the veins that lead to your hands.

I would try taking an antihistamine if this happens to you in the future.

We really can't tell you what happened though, and this will just end in speculation, so I'm going to close this thread.
