so can someone please shed some light on any advice they have for this. i'm literally scratching my skin raw on the inside of arm. and what's weird is that this has never happened before like this. i mean i've had a little itching before and it was actually something that i enjoyed doing(weird i know), but now it has gotten out of hand.

I like the itch myself, but many don't. Benedryl can work pretty good for that side effect. Also different opiates have a different itch. Codeine itch IMO is very umcomfortable, to the point I don't mess with that shit. Oxy on the other hand has that itch that I do actually enjoy. But yea, usually OTC allergy meds are used by people to help reduce the itch.

What opiate is bringing on this bad itch?

That happened to me one time and I poured vinegar on it which fuckin hurt but then it stopped itching. I have the scar on my arm but its not very noticeable . I had gross scaley lookin scab for a while.

This happens to me on to high a dose of hydrocodone, but it's mainly a scalp and leg itch. Usually it passes pretty quick though and happens more if I don't eat with the drug

Weird. Never once have I gotten itchy, even on shots of dilaudid or morphine (and I got huge hives from the morphine!)
Why not premedicate with newer gen antihistamines? The itching is a histimine reaction. Try reactine or Claritin . If you need a lot, either get a script if u have coverage or get the Costco size ones, as newer gen antihistamines are way pricier.

it's mainly focused on the inside of my arms, like right above the elbow where the bicep is, but it can be anywhere. i found some hydroxyzine so that helped a little, but i plan on dosing with some benadryl to keep it in check until i can see my doc about it.

it's weird, my prescribed tramadol is the culprit, but i've never had this happen before. i'm assuming it has to do with the fact that i went through withdrawal and and pretty much got over it, but then i got a refill and started taking it again.

i use doxylamine (otc-antihistamine) to counter itch from codeine

its called unisom in australia, but i have half a pill and have no itch at all, it also has sedative properties which for me is a plus

at first i loved it too, then it got to the point where it was just annoying. hydroxyzine will help, but i find that benadryl works better.
