What is it with politicians and their self-righteous hold on the country? It's like the old days when the white man tried to change native Americans to be like them. Same concept with today's political, religious reform. Religious nationalists are trying to clone themselves into American society with the notion that if everyone is like them the world would be a better place to live in, perhaps for themselves more than anyone else?
I used to preach at various churches as a fill-in pastor, the power of using god's name was invigorating and in doing so it set me aside from the people I was preaching to. Some people abuse god in this manner for their own agenda and that is wrong, but it happens all of the time.
Whether it be a society or church flock, we are being led by intimidation and fear of consequences if we disobey rules and regulations set forth by our peers, now matter how far up the chain of command they are. They are still our peers.
