isobuprol nitrite

We purchased a bottle of this last night at a (*mmhmm*) gentleman's club.
It was a small yellow bottle with "Rush" printed on it in red lettering. It was being sold as incense and listed on isobuprol(sp) nitrite as the only ingredient. It contained a transparent oily liquid that had a perfumy/mediciny smell.
We huffed the vapors 5-20 times in a succesion. A few seconds later we experienced lightheadedness, tingling in extremities, rapid heartbeat, a speedy rush and loss of motor control (especially when driving) :)
I haven't been able to dig up info on this stuff on erowid or various searches (maybe i'm not spelling it right) and was wondering if anyone had any info on exactly what is up with this shit and if it's basically as dangerous like huffing something stupid like gasonline. Any info or experience would be appreciated. thanks
 
Yeah, never knew the generic chemical name for rush, but although it's not exactly like huffin' gas, any inhalant like that doesn't affect your body exactly the same way every time you do it... Me, personally, I don't like it all that much, it's kinda like you can feel your brain cells popping...ew. I think it must be like huffin' rubbing alcohol, bleach and ammonia all at once. However, my dad uses it, and he's a pharmacist... so I'm sure there's plenty worse you can do... like all the shit I do. :) Peace...

Seriously though, there should be some info at erowid. Check under amyl nitrate, which was the original "rush."
 
I think you might be looking for "isobutyl," not isobuprol. Not sure, though. The nitrite part of the molecule is the active part, anyway. Lots of people refer to them as nitrates (as in amyl nitrate) but they're really nitrites. They're also known as poppers or amyls. You can learn more on Erowid.

btw I didn't huff it while driving personally. I was in the back seat of my friends car when all of a sudden he started swerving and screaming about how hot it was in the car. just thought I'd clear that up. :)
 
I personally don't care for any of the nitrates (the stuff sold as rush) .. you get lightheaded, your face feels likes it's on fire, and saying it produces "euphoria" is definitly subjective..
But if you're gay I guess it helps looseing those sphincter muscles.. the only use I have found for it, well, actually a friend told me about this, is when you have been on an opioid binge for a period of time and are constipated, it can work as a very quick acting laxitive - you huff some and you don't have to strain so hard you give yourself a hemroid... personally I never had that problem, I guess after you take opioids for a prolonged period of time this passes and you 'function' regularly... so no, I can't personally attest to this.. but it's something you could try if you have this problem!
