Is/was Meryl Streep Attractive?

I've been having an off and on discussion with my boyfriend about this.

All her earlier films basically profess her to be super beautiful. I think she was pretty damned attractive back in the day and still find her beautiful in a well-aged fox sort of way. But my boyfriend is adamant that most guys have never thought she was attractive (even back in her early years of Kramer v. Kramer/Sophie's Choice etc.).

I want some public opinions about this woman. I'm simply curious if other people find she is/was attractive or if I'm totally crazy. ;)
 
Yes sis, I have always found her attractive...her face is just so classically pretty and I dunno, unique. I could never tire of looking at her face.
I found her really pretty & delicate looking as Joanna in Kramer vs. Kramer.

And I really loved how she looked in Deerhunter, Falling in Love, Out of Africa, and in her hilarious roles in She-Devil and Death Becomes Her (faves!)

I think she's aged pretty well, and though she looks a bit matronly now , she looks fuckin fantastic for somebody who is going to turn 60 this year. I love her! <3

PS. I am not surprised we both find her beautiful ;)

i personally have zero attraction whatsoever to her. none

actually, i don't go see the movies in which she plays because i don't like to see her face

I personally dont like to watch movies with Jessica Alba because I find her bland and boring, but thats just me ;)
 
I thought she was attractive, but I've never heard any guys gush over her like the old Bo Derek, Pam Anderson, Heather Locklear sort of way.
 
not attractive. she might be considered classically beautiful, but she has never done it for me.

now that I think about it, her acting chops have never intrigued me or caught my attention either.

Anyhoo, yes I think she was/is beautiful in her own unique way (which is often the best way). She doesn't try to look like anyone else and to me that's attractive. Same goes for the likes of Bette Midler, Lily Tomlin, Bette Davis, Toni Colette etc. None of those people are 'typically' beautiful', but they all have something about them which magnetises you to them. To me they're all incredibly sexy. I guess because they're all strong women. <3

Come to think of it, I bet more women find Meryl Streep attractive than guys. Just a thought. I think it's just one of those things.

My turn to quote you on that one. Spot ON sis!
I definitely find women with strong characters and charming personalities very attractive, moreso than the usual "pretty face" that are a dime a dozen in the celebrity world.

physically i am not a fan of her "sunken eyes" facial structure. natascha mcelhone has the same thing.

but her presence in film is always welcome by me. i dig her work quite a bit.
 
I've never found her especially attractive. That said, like many actors lacking the looks department, she makes up for it in talent and screen presence.
 
I personally think that beautiful is the best word to describe her looks. I'm not sure that sexy fits, at least not in that sex pot sort of way, if that even makes sense. She has the kind of face that looks like it could have been painted onto a canvas, just lovely to look at. Her features have always been very striking to me, even now I think she's aged remarkably well. I'm really happy that she doesn't seem to have gone the plastic surgery route.

Add her acting skills to all of that, and she is a serious force to be reckoned with, definitely one of the true stars of her generation in film.
