I tripped on 5-MeO-AMT three years ago at that thing in Chapel Hill... I didn't like it. There were WAY too many people, and there wasn't really anything to do, and at least when I was there there was no music playing or anything either. Just lots of people walking by looking in shop windows. And the restaurants and bars had a stand-offish vibe to them. They wouldn't let you use the bathroom unless you stood in line and bought something. No joke, there were hired bouncers scowling at long lines of potential customers, checking receipts before letting anyone in the bathroom. And there were no outdoor toilets! Not that I could find anyway.
I found it lame and it had a hostile vibe due to the bad spirit of the businesses that were making money off the event. Maybe it's not like that and I was just tripping or found a bad part of it.
A better place to trip on Halloween would be somewhere with a couple of friends where you could be alone and safe. Or outide somewhere aware from civilization. Being around crowds of people is rarely a good thing on powerful psychedelics.
Hey Xorkoth, a few years late lol but did you actually enjoy 5-MeO-AMT at all? How many times have you used it?
I tried it once, many years ago, about 5 mg, can't remember exactly.
I actually enjoyed it pretty much, had a great social time at a large house party and some nice albeit rather mild visuals, patterns, extra colours and colour brightness. It was all good, but the residual stimulation lasted all night. Had I planned for it, I would have dropped a lot earlier and prepared for a full night. I find trying to sleep when you can't is frustrating, but if you simply accept it as an inevitability it isn't nearly as bothersome.
Never got nausea or jitters or any other nasty side effects people often report, just residual stimulation. I always warn people about the "nasty" side effects simply because of how often they are reported, but I could see myself actually enjoying it occassionally if I prepared for it by dropping earlier and preparing myself for the possibility of a long night with little sleep.
Just wondering if you got nasty side effects? I didn't find it profound or all that valuable, so I doubt you thought it was all that great, but for what it is, it was a nice stimulating and social experience with a nice touch of visuals.
