Is this what it's like?

I went over 24 hours without taking any codeine for the first time since I started about 3 months ago.

I felt extremely anxious, I actually had a panic attack (I've suffered with them for years but haven't had one for quite a while), I felt so sick, I was dizzy, I had insane abdominal pain, I was achey and felt really, really awful. I cannot even describe it enough.

I then took a dose of codeine because I couldn't deal with it and within 30 minutes it was like nothing had happened.

Is this a common episode of withdrawal? Is this what it's like?

Yeah that sounds like what it was. If you are not familiar with withdrawals you really should read about them, as an addict something will happen and you will withdrawal. Maybe not today, tomorrow or this month but you never know and you should prepare while you can as keeping is suggesting.

First 24 hours suck but they get progressively worse for about 3-4 days depending on what it is. Good luck with everything.
