Is this what it should feel like?

I take anywhere between 2-8mg of suboxone per day under the tongue. I tried shooting it up for the first time today, as I have a fixation with needles(having been a heroin addict for almost 3 years.) I filtered it twice, make sure I registered the vein two or three times because I know missing can be harmful, and hit.

It was probably around 2mg(just to point out, this was subutex not suboxone.) I didnt feel anything for about 2-3 minutes, then all of a sudden I got light-headed and my chest grew heavy. It felt good but a bit scary at the same time. That only lasted about 5 minutes and a half hour later I still feel a bit of warmth.

Just wondering if this is how it's supposed to feel, because Id like to do it again. I know it's dangerous andI know the risks involved, so please spare me the warnings. I just need to know if that is what I should have felt, or was I on the verge of respiratory depression. That is what freaked me out a bit when I felt the heaviness in my chest. Of course Ive shot up plenty of dope and have had the same feeling many times while doing that as well. Thank you!

Sounds like you had a pretty good experience with it. Your lucky because most people dont even feel that much but a lil buzz from it unless they arent opiate tolerant. I will give you one warning about IVing bupe that i have noticed over the years. Im sure you are informed about precipitated withdrawal which is very important to avoid and you are more at risk for it while IVing. Also do not ever IV suboxone after coming off of opiates(heroin,opana, etc.) even if it is time to take it. It is ok to take it sublingually or to IV subutex at this point but not suboxone. I have noticed and talked with many people that have realized that you will get a very uneasy, queasy, nauseous feeling in your chest and throat for about 10-15 min right afterwards before you feel the positive affects. I can tell you this feeling is horrible and kinda what i think a mild heart attack might feel like . So when my withdraws set in and all i have is suboxone i take a half and wait a couple hours for the bupe to replace the other opiates on my receptors then i begin to IV it a mg or two at a time and have no problem.

It's important to remember that IV bioavailability for subs is nearly 100%, whereas sublingual is closer to 30%. So you could have taken 3 times as much as you're used to.

I know you requested we not do this but have you seen any of the med articles people have posted around here about bupe injection? I stopped doing it the day I read one of these and you might want to give yourself the chance.

I shot four of the Suboxone eights after withdrawing for a day or two once. I couldn't leave the bathroom for a half hour, my pupils became saucers (because of the naloxone), and though I didn't hit the floor in the fetal position, I felt like I wanted to, but I just stayed statue still: I felt a cold clean chill through my body, but it wasn't as bad as withdrawal (the buprenorphine helps there, it's not like straight narcan) can be... and it only lasted 20-30 minutes, and got progressively better up to six or seven hours later where it was a nice buzz for sure.

They put the narcan in it so you do not IV it. Though when it all comes on at once a while later, its a nice and long afterglow. Don't do it if you have full agonists in your system within the last 24 hours though. That would be full on withdrawal.

I would strongly urge you to look into the last link in my micron filtering mega thread (last link in my signature); with micron filtering, injecting buprenorphine (from tablets) can be safer than without micron filtering.

The naloxone does nothing to deter IV use of Suboxone.​
