Is it true that you can shoot heroin for 20 years and then stop, and still grow back your brain cells?

Is it true that you can smoke cocaine for years and then stop and your lungs will fully heal in 20 years or something?

i feel like i have been told so many lies by the media and govornment i cannot trust them anymore when it comes to information of this kind. I would like to know if brain cells grow back especially. I heard it doesn't from the govornment, however the other day my friend told me the brain is a muscle and it in fact will growback..

Heroin doesn't kill brain cells, to my understanding it creates extra mu-opioid receptors. It may reduce your endogenous endorphins, although yes, these will regenerate after quitting.

Your lungs will recover once you stop smoking, as long as you don't contract smoking-related diseases before such a time period is up.

I just don't think this is really worthy of an OD topic. These might be questions you could ask in the ADD Advanced Pharmacology thread (stickied), or you could post asking about these in Basic Drug Discussion, but nonetheless, it is always best to do your own independent research to determine these things. :)
