Is this too much copper wool for a DMT machine?

How much wool to use is one thing people never really have clarified about the machine. On one hand, if there's too little it wouldn't hold the DMT effectively. But according to this guy, he had a lot more success just packing the wool in loosely to make a plug: "I applied the same principle of just pushing in enough to get a plug without trying to compact it."

Unrelated question, but I've seen people say to wait until the chamber fills up before inhaling. So could you put your mouth around in preparation, start heating, and then keep an eye on the chamber to decide when to go? or is the inhalation necessary to create the vapor?

Haha, I'd just be scared any slight amount of vapor might hit so hard it'd be difficult to correctly finish the rest of the hit. I'm a complete newb. But it seems better than inhaling before it's all been vaporized and only getting a lungful of oxygen, so it's worth a shot I suppose.

unless your dmt is really scarce I wouldn't be too worried about messing it up. Just don't burn it lol.

While I've not used the machine, I have a VG Glass Sherlock, and my screen of copper mesh is just 3-4 mm thick and holds doses up to 50 mg perfectly. Not a single drop of liquified DMT has run down the walls.

Based on your picture that seems like quite much copper wool. DMT glues to it very effectively when liquified, you really need quite little of it. And remember not to apply too much heat, DMT vapes very quickly, otherwise you might risk burning it instead.

you could fill the majority of the neck up with that stuff and still be a ok.

Since the copper will absorb heat, spreading it over the rest of the material I think an excess will allow for a more slow rise of spreaded averaged temperature so as long as the ventilation is sufficient for vapor spreading I don't think a little too much copper should be a problem... But it's been a while using mesh / metal wools like that for me.
