Opioids is this a safe mix? (tramadol)

hi im new to the forum but im quite familiar with opiates and opioids. Lately ive been popping a dece amount of tram (200mg a day) but more like every other day, not really everyday. well im going to a party tonight and ive taken 4 50mgs of tram today just cause i only had 2 hours of sleep so i need some energy. so is it bad if i drink rum tonight considering im on tram? id assume not because im sort of sleep deprieved although i feel fine but im worried about mixing tram and liquor. Opinions/advice? thanks

Sorry man off topic but jayz sucks yep he does but your just makin more for his name. He has an awesome wife (behind closed doors maybe she ain't) your taking drugs searching for some high. Man ur on a forum bout drugs man no offence honestly do as much research as u possibly can there's a search button on whatever substance it is then 2 make everything foolproof or you can't explain to nurses my advice write on bit of paper Wat u taken & @Wat time.

Well as a general rule, opioids and alcohol don't mix. But with tram, it's an especially bad idea, as tramadol is such a complex drug. In addition to it's mild opioid effects, tramadol has serotenergic effects, and norepinephrine RI properties. And 200mg is a large dose...

But tramadol itself doesn't last that long. You say your tolerant to the tram? Well if your also tolerant to alcohol they're shouldn't be any major problems, just don't go crazy on the alcohol, and certainly don't take anymore tramadol. Believe me, I have mixed them, and it doesn't work out so well!!!

But for future reference, if you must take them on the same day, take your regular 200mg dose, and wait at least 8 hours to drink.(preferably longer). And, don't ever take more than 300mg of tram at once(400mg a day), and if you do take that much, you have to wait a full 12 hours to consume ethanol.

Alcohol lowers your seizure threshold when it is leaving your system and Tramadol is also known for lowering the seizure threshold. So yeah not the best idea for that reason alone right there. Also even though Tramadol has only mild opioid effects for most people alcohol still adds to the respiratory depressant effects of any opioid.

Personally the few times i took Tramadol it made me feel pretty nauseous quite unlike most other opioids which actually seem to help the nausea i get. I couldn't imagine drinking any alcohol with Tramadol as i don't even like a drink with only abit of oxy even.

Yes, I'm aware of that, but the half-life of tramadol itself is shorter than it's M1 metabolite(desmethlyltramadol).

Clearly it is not ideal, but since he's probably going to do it anyway, then the best approach is to MINIMIZE risk and harm. And frankly, if he waits at least 8h(and especially 12) then it's not going to kill him.

Of course, I am assuming he is experienced with alcohol. If not, then this is simply ridiculous.

Personally? Drank heavily with ~400mg Tramadol doses many, many times. Not condoning it, just stating it...

Last night was my birthday bash and I had taken some tramadol in the morning, drank most of the afternoon and evening--along with smoking pot--and ended the night with a bunch of cherry bombs. I made sure it was 6 hours after I had taken any tramadol to start drinking. I can say I felt a little funny, but it could have been the weed

to the first guy that replied, your a fag and other than some trembles in my legs and arms i felt fine, i drank a fair amount of liquor too and i have a good tolerance to alcohol so thats okay i guess. But Thanks for the replies, i probably wont do this again. had i known about the party the night before i wouldn't be popping tram but you know shit happens. And to Lorne yeah i stop at 200mg. I would never go past that. i read some crazy stuff about people that do more than 200mg.
