I have been on it for a while but recently I seem to get a low grade fever after I take it, then it goes down once the medicine wears off. I've been on the same dose as always. Is this a side effect some people get?

Increased body temperature is a common side effect of methylphenidate (and most stimulants).

If it becomes bothersome, however, you may want to speak to your doctor about switching to a different medication...

Yes, it is normal. Iv'e also had those when I was prescribed Concerta. But yes I would also talk to your doctor about switching if it becomes a problem.

Have you taken your temperature during such occurances? Would be a good idea in my opinion - especially if you do end up going back to your Dr about this: you'll have concrete evidence.

I was perscribed that aswell a while ago. I did not get that side effect. I got increased heart
Rate though. Atleast felt like it. But I would definitely talk to doctor.

Thanks to everyone who responded to this. It seems that I actually developed and allergic reaction shortly after I posted this my face developed a rash that burned so badly and swelled up. It only happens after I take the medicine so I had to stop it. It's just weird I had been taking for a month so I don't know why all of sudden I got a reaction. Will have to switch to another medication.
