Is there still real LSD

So it's common knowledge that since the Pickard bust it is uncommon to find real LSD. However, I've seen figures online including on BL that say that real LSD is not available at all to the public drug market and that only a small amount of people have access to it. Makes it sound like some sort of ancient treasure. How much truth is there to this? I've done "acid" many times and clearly some were not real LSD, as I could taste a metallic taste, I would feel strung out as shit after, etc. However, last time I only took one tab, didn't taste anything, had a great experience with decent visuals and I wasn't strung out at all and felt fine in the morning. I believe this was real LSD, but what I've read has me questioning.

Yes, there's real acid out there. Yes, it's harder to find. Yes, stuff is being passed off as acid (NBOMe& possibly other stuff). Probably, the stuff you had last was real acid but no one could ever know if you haven't had it tested. Also, what did I take? Type questions are not allowed at BL. Happy hunting!

Real acid has a metallic, sour taste to me, I wouldn't take that as a sign it was fake acid. It's making me sad that this idea that metallic tasting tabs = fake acid has been making the rounds. It seems some people can taste this sour metallic taste and some can't. I've been dosing since about 1995 (way before NBOMe's were a glimmer anyones eye) and have always noticed this taste, and also noticed that some people can't taste it. Also, being strung out after an acid trip isn't necessarily a sign it's fake acid either. Acid is stimulating and epic, not unusual to feel strung out after being rocked on acid for so long.

[edit:] PS: Yes, there definitely still is real LSD out there.

I've also wondered this. The process for creating lsd is so damn complicated I can barely even read the instructions let alone follow them. Wish it could make a comeback but it seems their just isnt the level of profitability in lsd when compared to your shady dumb drugs like heroin and coke. Only large crime groups really have the resources to put lsd out there and theyre not doing it because it wouldnt make them much money. We need some new Timothy Learys to get out there and start promoting this drug again, maybe we will get lucky and some harvard professors or rich philanthropists will make a bunker and get things going again.

I had a chem teacher tell me it's not hard to produce if you know what you're doing so idk

Chemistry is a lot more than just following instructions.
Apart from simply acquiring the heavily controlled reagents and having a fully equipped clandestine organic laboratory, techniques in organic chemistry require a lot of finesse.
It's not like baking a cake where you throw some ingredients in a bowl and stir, ALOT of experience is required, and careful attention is needed.
It's one thing to read the procedure but it's another to actually understand the basis behind what you're doing, and acquiring a pure product from many synthesis reactions is not as simple as procedure manuals may make it seem

according to albert hofmann, a 250µg dose is completely tasteless. that said, i have also noticed this, but i'd rather call it metallic sparkle; it's not intense or "real" enough of a sensation to be really called taste imho :)

your chem teacher probably hasn't studied the synthesis in detail or he has done so much teaching that he forgot the details of labwork. you definitely need a well equipped lab and even then it's a cumbersome and delicate process with many possibilies for failure (at least when compared to other common synthetic drugs). it's certainly not something a qualified chemist can make at home in two or three days with a bit of glassware.

I know what you mean, it's definitely very subtle. It's so faint that I thought I was imagining it for the longest time. But after years, I've noticed it's always there, it's always the same, and it's easier to notice the longer I've been dosing. Metallic sparkle is a great description. Maybe Hofmann wasn't sensitive to that taste..?

As far I can tell, i just took some real good LSD today. First alerts in 20 minutes after swallowed. This is was first time taking (supposedly) real lsd, only taken al lad before but this seemed like exactly described lsd. Fantastic stuff, words cant convey. Definitely a life changing material.

Genetic differences can allow for people to taste certain things while others cannot, I forget what the go to example that is always used in genetics classes it, which is kinda bad because we talked about it in mine less than a month ago.
It could explain why LSD tastes metallic to some but not to others.

Or anyone with access to the materials and a passion for psychedelics. I don't understand why it's so hard to accept that there are a few chemists out there who are truly passionate about psychedelics and might go to the trouble of synthing the gold standard of psychedelics.

It could be just the taste of blotter & ink, I've never stuck a placebo blotter in my mouth to test. Curious. I kinda don't think so though, because the taste is very distinct and I'm sure I've chewed printed (normal) paper before and not noticed that taste. I wouldn't think the inks used on blotter would be any different from typical print inks, and blotter is just cellulose paper right?

you are quite the riddler Jim Carrey

does a bear shit in the woods?
