I am not normally a carpet surfer. I have a friend who I know it's a spiller. I saw him recently and after he left I took a look around where he was sitting. Between the carpet and his seat I found 0.3g. This is just from a few hours of sitting in one place. At his house, my goal is usually to get a full gram or more. From the floor. I'll return whatever I find to him. And then I clean.
I'm wondering if anyone has thoughts on carpet surfing. I know plenty of people who will not smoke anything off the floor. Maybe it was a bad experience or maybe they just think they're above that. I know where I live, especially in the winter, it's too easy to get other things, like rock salt and that's never fun. All that work for nothing.
Here's a nice visual for you. I'm pretty blind. I cannot see clearly much more than a foot in front of my face. So when I do go surfing, I have to get on all fours, usually holding a small flashlight in my mouth, with a pair of tweezers and a baggie or tray to put stuff on. I'm too old for this shit. 😁

"Acceptable", lol... sure, it's acceptable if you don't mind the risk of smoking, snorting, eating or (horrifically, but I know it's happened) injecting something pretty fucking gross and you really really really wanna get high.

I guess this is more of a smoked stimulants thing which I've never really been into so I guess I'm missing out on the excitement of carpet surfing, but, I mean, there's nothing wrong with it I guess, it just seems pretty damn grimy and depending on your method of administration pretty sketchy health-wise. Also depends on the floor type surely, carpet surfing seems to be a special level of grossness and risk versus just floor surfing, if that's a term, coz of obviously all the fibers and detritus in carpets ready to stick to anything you might drop.

I don't really go hunting for dropped fragments of drugs coz it just feels particularly degenerate and I guess I've never been fiending that hard, but, actually that said I recall coming off benzos a few times turning rooms upside down looking for a dropped pill or 2, very rarely I actually find them when I'm looking for them, usually if I have dropped some which for whatever reason is far more likely with benzos for me than really most other drugs, I'll find them weeks later when I'm not even looking for them, BUT a few times I have found a pill in some concerningly dusty, grimy nook, specifically actually I'm thinking of finding some in a crevice between floorboards in some grimy cupboard that might not have been properly cleaned in over a decade, and when this happened I tried to kinda scrub them to get the worst off before quickly eating them... actually I remember the one time specifically I found a 2mg clonazepam which had been white but appeared to have some kind of blue stain, I have no idea what it was but I tried to get rid of most of it and then dissolved it in some boiled water... I'm thinking now could have been mold or something, fortunately I seem to be fine but in retrospect I'd say that was absolutely in no way worth doing and I should have just chucked it... I'd imagine the same can be said for most carpet surfing but whether it's "acceptable" or not is, for drugs or whatever mystery floor-debris that you intend to imbibe yourself, solely for you to judge. :sneaky:

I am pretty careful when I do this, which really isn't often. It's pretty much just around that one friend who constantly spills. Like I said, I'm literally down on all fours, flashlight in mouth with tweezers picking up little shards. It's not as gross when you know it's only been on the ground for a few hours and there has been no traffic besides you. Plus I clean. Often. I vacuum every other day, sometimes daily. I don't have a bunch of random grossness to go thru. Friends place is another story though. That's why I don't use what I pick up. I figure their stuff, they can have it. It just satisfies something in me to surf every now and then.

Not exactly but in my teens and possibly early 20s I wasn't above going through either my own or friends ash trays to make a rollie when I didn't have enough money for smokes. Similar amount of gross maybe?
In my teens I spent hours searching the floor, even under my bed, for lost buds / hash pieces.

One or two times I even smoked fucking bong grime.

It's just a plant, bro! :D

My problem was that after my NEP binge for -which I would use and white tealight and a meth pipe- eventually all the white crystal shards I thought I found would be candle wax.

All those bags and boxes I turned over just for my next tiny little vapor-worm!

Now NEP has become banned in The Netherlands I don't want to do the same thing to the new carpet/flooring that sometimes happened to the old carpet.

A 100% literal answer but

Carpet surfing when you’ve clearly dropped something, and it was a fair bit of good stuff fair enough,

3 days into a chain smoking binge, and you’ve latched onto the thought you must of dropped some is a firm no..

But who am I to say. I remeber walking round my village as a teenager picking up dog ends for baccy to roll a spliff, then spending 40 minutes in a thought loop about potential diseases and viruses that could ā€œinfect meā€ from me doing that. Christ alive 🤣

When nobody sees it, did it even happen?

I vacuum and try to wipe surfaces down asap to avoid this fiendery. I used to have a million baggies with like 0.2 k, rcs or amph literally everywhere. I am sure my room still has some presents waiting for me. Hopefully banned rcs.

When an entire g of coke fell on the floor at a party once I left it on the floor and did floorbumps. Floor was clean. It was next to a couch. No animals.

I know this comment isn’t about stim carpet searching, but I used to be heroin dependent.

I kept my heroin in one place but I swear to god that shit got everywhere. There would be heroin stuck to all kinds of instruments and accoutrements. You ever seen that Japanese game show ā€œis it chocolateā€

Well, be me, dopesick, playing ā€œis it heroin?ā€ With every single spot of black goo on anything. I’d always give it a taste first, tongue out, hoping for that bitter vinegar to meet my tastebuds. And sometimes that brown spot would be unimaginable disgusting things, and other times it would be a thick glob of sweet sweet heroin.

Artifacts I called them.

So no I haven’t searched the carpet.

But I’ve absolutely done far worse.

To answer your original question;

Yea, absolutely, when it’s heroin.
