is there anything you ALWAYS WANTED TO KNOW?

Why can't people get up to change the channel on the tv, but they can get up & search for the remote for 10 minutes?

Because channel surfing is different to watching TV programs. If you're just killing time, you need to be able to watch every channel from the comfort of your chair, so searching for the remote is worth the effort. You can't aimlessly channel surf by getting up and down, because that requires more effort for the reward you get. If I was going to watch a specific program I can happily do it without knowing where the remote is, but if I don't really care what I'm watching then the remote is essential, and thus worth locating. :)

yeah, i have a question: i want to know what's wrong with this city!!!?

dan murphies closes at 8pm on fridays.

movies stop showing after 10pm.

arrrghhh. :p

ps. the city i would be referring too is melbourne.

Movies run later at crown: I've seen many movies pissed at 3am there...

There are also 24 hour liquer stops in the city, on being on Bourke street, top end.

ahhh, crown... i should of known.

so that's one place that i can go if i ever again decide that i want to go watch a movie after 10pm on a saturday night. and i have two options for where i can get alcohol from in the entire city (and what if i don't have a car?). :|

no shit, i love melbourne, i really do. but that just sucks. cos see, on the one hand they close all alcohol shops up early on weekends thus essentially what they're telling you is that alcohol is bad. don't get drunk, people. but then if god forbid you actually decide that you want to do something on a saturday night that involves both getting out of the house and soberness, the only option that they really leave you with is going out to a bar or club, since you can't see movies anywhere. (besides crown ;))

bloody hypocrites, i say.

hmmm, i have a feeling that this may or may not of been more suitable a post for the rants thread. sorry peeps. :\

Why do mossies always go after me?
There is a bunch of reasons why mosquitos will seek out specific people over others.

* Dark Clothing
Many mosquitoes use vision to locate hosts from a distance. Dark clothes and foliage are initial attractants.

* Carbon Dioxide
You give off more carbon dioxide when you are hot or have been exercising. A burning candle or other fire is another source of carbon dioxide.

* Lactic Acid
You release more lactic acid when you have been exercising or after eating certain foods (e.g., salty foods, high-potassium foods).

* Floral or Fruity Fragrances
In addition to perfumes, hair products, and scented sunscreens, watch for the subtle floral fragrance from fabric softeners and dryer sheets.

* Skin Temperature
The exact temperature depends on the type of mosquito. Many mosquitoes are attracted to the slightly cooler temperatures of the extremities.

* Moisture
Mosquitoes are attracted by perspiration because of the chemicals it contains and also because it increases the humidity around your body. Even small amounts of water (e.g., moist plants or mud puddles) will draw mosquitoes. Standing water also allows mosquitoes to reproduce.

So as you can see, it's mostly because you smell. ;)

And where do flies go in winter?
They die.
Depending on the species of fly and the temperature, they have an average lifespan of anywhere between one week and 1-2 months

Basically winter is just too cold and wet for the flies to handle. When it gets to lower than 12 degrees Bush Flies for instance can't fly at all. They need the heat to be able to get up into the air, and if it's only just warm enough, the wind chill factor while flying will actually slow them down and can make them drop out of the air again.

Once it starts to warm up again, the warm wind from the northern states actually blows new flies down south to bother us again.

^^ A lot of the time it comes down to heat again.

When a fly (and a whole lot of other bugs) get warmer, their bits start working, so if only one side of them gets warmer then just that side of them flies faster, so they end up going in circles.

As far as I know it's also to help them locate the prime spot to land on to feast on whatever it is they are attracted to.

Oh... and they're dumb. ;)

^^ coz he is a fatty.

And i have the BEST mental image of flies hauling buttocks across the sky... hitting a cold patch and suddenly stopping and nose diving down.

hee hee i like the inside of my head.

what happened before the big bang?

My money is on the Big Crunch.

Following the big bang everything in existance blasted out from one point, we can still see the effects of this in the trajectory of celestial bodies, but they are slowing down.

Once everything slows down enough due to gravitational pull from each other, some people theorise that everything will start to gravitate together again, until eventually everything crunches back in on itself forming the same kind of conditions that triggered the big bang in the first place. Rinse and repeat.

I reckon it's just as likely as anything else that it's all happened before. (I wonder if we're having more fun this time around?;))

I want to know exactly what Franco Cozzo is saying. Full translation please. And for bonus points, please provide conclusive proof that Franco Cozzo really is just a front for drug imports. ;)

But seriously, I've always wondered what he's going on about... so, yeah... :)

He's talking about having a grad sale, about the grand sale, and where the grand sales are happening...

P.S. Q:What did Franco Cozzo say when he stood in wet cement?

A: Oh no, A foot is gray...
