Is there a point in me taking Xanax for a meth comedown?

Hey guys! Still kinda new here.

I have a massive benzo tolerance- I’ve had 20mg prescribed Xanax in a day before and it did nothing (I know it was dumb to do, and don’t intend on tempting fate again.)

My question is: since my benzo tolerance is so damn high, will it even help during my meth binge comedown? Australian meth, and 3 points each day for 3-4 days.

I mean realistically, anything aside from more stimulants will probably help to some degree.

Alcohol is a terrible substance, but even it has its uses. That sentence sounds terrible, but I'm going to blame that on alcohol and pregabalin today.

I would use for coming down to finish off for sure.

Makes things a lot smoother and easier to deal with.

Are you saying Lyrica is bad for the comedown? Cos I was told that GABA helps the comedown

Lyrica should help, although I think benzos would probably be favorable in this case.

That being said Lyrica is a hell of a drug, and the right dosage will probably have you more or less forgetting about the meth comedown.

You shouldn't need to take that much to get some relief, though.


I only mentioned it because I had a lot of it in me, as well as alcohol, at the time of posting.

Possibly it is best to avoid high doses of pregabs, that can cause paradoxical effect and increase in glutamate, which is excitatory neurotransmitter.

But generally it is good for almost any comedowns and withdrawals

I wouldn't. If the meth is still in your system it can have the opposite of the desired effect. All of a sudden your inhibitions are gone and the stimulation is back and next thing you know you're building a barbecue on your neighbours roof. I would take seroquel instead, it works much much better. I sure hope you have some.

EDIT: If you're sure the meth is out of your system, like you're not in the anxiety and wanting more phase, you're in the sleepy, hungry and unmotivated phase, then sure, but at that point getting to sleep shouldn't be a problem anyway.

YMMV, that can definitely happen and at least I would start on low dose, so it won't end up in the deep end if it turns out bad drug in the situation.
