is there a drug to elevate blood pressure that doesn't need a prescription?

Hello all. I'm 39 (turning 40 very soon), employed, married and a father of 2 beautiful girls!
Lately I'm having trouble with low blood pressure. I am using a blood pressure tester to measure my blood pressure from time to time. That's what my personal doctor advised me when I visited the office last time. He told me that I have naturally low blood pressure (my grandfather had it as well). I haven't had any noticeable problems so far, but lately I think the situation is getting worse. Sometimes I feel very dizzy and I have trouble getting up in the morning. Sometimes I feel so exausthed and without energy in the morning that it's bad.
I know you're gonna suggest me regular exercise and a diet with more salt, but I'm already quite active and I eat more salty food that I ate before. It doesn't help. Or at least I think it isn't helping. Are there any drugs that can be bought without prescription and will help me elevate my blood pressure? Are such drugs harmful? Any side effects?

Thank you for your answers everyone.
Drew

from wiki:

Both ephedrine and pseudoephedrine increase blood pressure and act as bronchodilators, with pseudoephedrine having considerably less effect.

(MDB mentioned this the other day so I can't take all the credit).

It can be pretty dangerous to fuck about with your blood pressure. What's happening with your doctor? Surely they should be prescribing you something.

edit: I know someone who was taking prescribed medicine for high blood pressure. They were having nasty side effects so they reduced their dose without speaking to their doctor. The result was a spike in blood pressure which burst a blood vessel in their eye, making their already poor vision even worse.

I like my low blood pressure. Get a head rush most days from just standing up to fast (and shallow breathing beforehand.) Sounds like its bothersome to you though. Not sure taking stimulants is the answer as they can be addictive and have other side effects :/ But what do I know?

I think i mentioned phenylephrine which was in my flu drink i took the other day and every day since. From wiki Phenylephrine is a selective α1-adrenergic receptor agonist used primarily as a decongestant, as an agent to dilate the pupil, and to increase blood pressure. Phenylephrine is marketed as a substitute for the decongestant pseudoephedrine, though clinical studies differ regarding phenylephrine's effectiveness in this role.

As Knock said its probably best to see a doctor rather than self medicate blood pressure issues.

Sorry, yeah I actually was a bit unsure about that but because I've overdone the EPH I'm typing too fast and hitting "post" too quick :(

mpa is a sod for doing that

I find MPA is amazing at opening up my lungs and airways. This must be why!

Thanks for answers.
Well I'm just curious and decided to ask. My doctor advised my to measure my BP regularly and so I did (apparently there isn't much we can do about my low blood pressure). If the situation will get much worse ofcourse I will talk to my doctor about it. I'm just asking if there is anything a bit "stronger" than coffee :)

What drugs drop blood pressure? i assume benzos and opiates do?

Back in the pre ban meph days i shoulda gone to the docs for some blood pressure meds or something, must have done some damage

methamphetamine should do the work for illegal thingiez, but wont recommended ( hey im MR.White )

caffeine should work?

Caffeine doesn't get me anywhere near these values (blood pressure chart below). In fact, I don't remember when was the last time I've measured 120/80 :) Not that I want to have 120/80. A 90/60 would be just fine...

Benzos (not much though), opiates, GHB/GBL, Lyrica, Alcohol may or may not...

As for the OP's question: L-Tyrosine. It's not a drug but an amino acid.
Care to share a bit more information on this? Thank you.

take up smoking tobbacco, drink loads of coffee, dont sleep properly, take a job in a call centre, your blood pressure will soon rise. :\

Narh, seriously, surely there is a medical drug specifically invented for this ? And your doctor should know ? Allthough blood pressure being too high is more common IME.
