Is the "Drug Culture" Sub-forum too revealing?

Life is unsafe. If anything this forum is too paranoid about safety and scares people into trying anything at all.

Driving your car is unsafe, putting personal information on the internet is unsafe, going to work is unsafe, everything is unsafe thanks to our paranoid society.

I've frequently done things with drugs that if you listened to this forum I should've died numerous times. Am I some medical miracle? Hell no, I'm just not crippled by paranoia and fear.

Sure you should have harm reduction in mind, but you can wear all the bike helmets and pads you want, riding a bike is still dangerous. Will you never cycle then?

There's a difference between rational harm reduction (not snorting a huge line of some heroin you just purchased from a stranger in a back alley, but instead doing a small line or testing it first), to stupid paranoia (never touching drugs because of the fear something bad might happen), a lot of people can't tell the difference. It doesn't help that forums like these are usually filled with people crippled with anxiety and the other types are those who have no regard for safety at all. Some medium between paranoid anxiety and doing stupid stuff would be ideal. Sadly most people either just go crazy with drugs and have no regard to safety, or don't even use them because of paranoia.

The ideal state is to use drugs with some basic precautions taken first. Sad most can't realize that.

I have wondered about this too. Drug dicksizing can be dangerous, and certainly happens in this forum. I worry that someone could read about a dosage that a bluelighter claims to have took, and use this to rationalize taking more of a substance even though they can feel they are at their own bodies limit.
But i can see the arguments for allowing it too. The looser forums like this one make this place more human and might make young reckless types more likely to join and post, and wind up getting a lot of good info on harm reduction in the process.
But if i imagine how someone with old school status quo views on drugs would see this form, it would probably look more like an orgy of indulgence. How important is the image that bluelight actually has to people like that? That i am much less sure of

this is what i call evolution or killing off the dumber group of people, i for 1 has researched every drug in much detail when iv taken it, i would never trust some random on the net to reassure its safe to take a certain substance at what levels, its human progress let em do it, im not that cold rerally but why does the world need dumb followers who dont even do there own research

yeah, if the alternative to open discussion is not talking about drug use (especially safe drug use, etc) at all, then i'm all for "too much" information...at least then people have information to make their own decisions. And as psychadelic wizard mentioned, there will always be people who take things to crazy levels of risk...if anything that is even more reason for open, reasoned discussion of high risk activities.

there's plenty of drug propaganda floating around the internet already...DC is somewhere we can at least be honest and open about our experiences and use. if it scares a bunch of people who are on here for shock value, well, ok...

This is a common problem with true uncensored freedom, where do you draw the line? Bluelight can't be responsible for people doing unsafe things who are probably going to be doing unsafe things regardless of what they hear of others doing. It's more philosophy than anything else. If there is enough discussion the wise thing will get mentioned and prevail. Those who are looking for excuses will find them anywhere.

What drives me bonkers is drug users especially the younger ones seeing drug use as a total moral excuse to do anything wrong "doing drugs is illegal and wrong so you shouldn't judge me for raping, murdering, stealing, etc" Okay I'm exaggerating I've never seen anyone on here justify murder or rape but they do some heinous things in the name of drug use. Doing drugs is neither inherently bad or good no matter what anyone thinks.

I think more than inherent ethical value, drug use itself hurts no one but the user. If it was legal and didn't have all that icky crime and cartel stuff attached, it would be what we call a "victimless crime" because the only person it's really affecting is you. This is the main reason I advocate for total legalization. Making any decision that doesn't affect others should not be up to the government, it should be up to you (I include in this also seatbelt laws and motorcycle helmet laws. I always wear my seatbelt, but I think legislating its use is pretty Orwellian honestly).
