Is The Antichrist On Earth?

Funny, I know lots of atheists who are more Christ-like than fundies.

it takes a lot for that harmony occur - i can agree with what you are saying, and think it is far more likely then the stereotypical antichrist. but, i dont want to fully agree ;) having faith in practicing Christians that they would not think that either.

I did a bit of reading on the tribulation, again wiki because its the quickest and ....wow

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_Tribulation

"Historicists are prone to see prophecy fulfilled down through the centuries and even in today's world. Thus, instead of expecting a single Antichrist to rule the earth during a future Tribulation period, Martin Luther, John Calvin and the other Protestant Reformers saw the Antichrist as a present feature in the world of their time, fulfilled in the papacy."

So basically, protestants consider the Pope the antichrist. Well thats rich. %)

Its probably interesting to note as well that Christ, historically, would be viewed as a weak character - and one prophet or speaker (religious nut?) amongst many. So in a sense, you may have really quite a few figures roaming around that area, Syria, Turkey, etc. spewing forth religious rhetoric and political ideologue, geez even the greater sea coast of the mediterranean sea of various "cults" all of which would be against the rule of the Roman Empire and basically seen as criminal by the Empire.

So I could see the antichrist may be nothing more than a beggar or a con-artist roaming the land, demanding gold and followers preaching the "truth" of salvation when in fact all he wants is to get laid by the weak women or whatever that person specifically wants. hahhahah, seriously though people weren't really bright back then ...so a trickster , a wolf in sheep's clothing, may have been a really prominent figure. The "I will make it rain" sort of person ....or what have you.

I wouldn't give the Pre-tribulation view much merit as it is unto itself a antichrist mechanism which the bible warns against. See above!

Beware of false prophets! :D

I thought the Biblical interpretation of the antichrist is that no one will know who he/she is. So what's the point of asking? If people think they know, then they don't know. He might even be something we think is good but is actually fucking us all over in some way. Just like people won't know the day or the hour of the end times.

Given how vague it is, the antichrist would be anyone, which leaves us where we started: with a world full of problems and fucked up people that need to be dealt with.

At some point certain people will know who he is but youre rite that people will mistake him for somebody thats good,etc....He will be a con artist of personality....I only asked to get a discussion started....It was more of a ( Who Do You Think He Is) if you could just choose an individual thats here on earth rite now....I realize nobody on BLight has a rite or wrong answer, its just for everyones curiosity....I never realized how deep us drug users on here go for simple answers sometimes.Lol

Who do you ( THINK ) the Antichrist is::: vs :::Who do you ( KNOW ) the Antichrist is::: no sarcasm intended, rephrasing my question so that its more understood

doesn't the bible comment on the antichrist having a fully articulate running stride? :\

It just strikes me as somewhat strange that the antichrist is considered to be male, I mean, sure, there is the "The Whore of Babylon," but the archetype is perceived as male, I mean the Bible is a complete patriarchal work - but it definitely says something that the unconscious visualization is of a figure that is male.

There's something Freudian lurking there, men afraid of a fraudulent father figure or something.

'they are better pleased the less they know their way.'

this is a discussion that is perpetuated by fear and the desire to debate and feel your answer is more correct then the next, creating a sense of intellectual superiority - which can lead to a sense of power and the capability to manipulate with fear.

all is made of love, that is very difficult to realize, and even more difficult to sustain. that state of mind is cosmic or Christ consciousness; which is what the man named Jesus attained and would teach to whom could learn.

there is illusion(material/temporary) and reality(non-animated/infinite)

any less then that is not some sort of malicious being, and a product of our imagination, looking for material or an outside source to take shape of evil.
