Hi,
I was without any benzos for a while and I'm a daily user, although not anything huge, 20mg of valium a day, 30 on bad days, which sometimes causes me to have no benzos for a certain period of time. Normally I deal with it by having some powder etizolam, but I didn't have any and didn't have the money to order some (being paid by contract sucks at times). I got all the usual effects I get when not being on benzos, chest issues, tachycardia, worsening of my TMJ disorder (which is half the reason why I use valium, half anxiolytic, half muscle relaxant, beats any other muscle relaxant out there, and I can't speak for Soma as it was removed from Canada since more than 17 years now, Zanaflex, Flexeril, Robaxin and Orphenadrine is pretty much all there is purely muscle relaxant wise and they suck. I got my script yesterday but something bizarre happened yesterday.
I was having those chest tightening effects, so I decided to lay down on my belly, which I never do, I don't sleep well that way, i'm a side sleeper, sometimes on my back, but I end up waking up on the side. After 30 minutes, I woke up and I was killing the circulation in my arms as they were both under me, and I was making fists with my hands under my chest, face first in the pillows. I turned on my side and there was a jolt, right over my left eye and left temple, over my TMJ articulation. It felt like electricity, numb, and painful. It went away, but I was left with a strange feeling afterwards. I saw my doctor yesterday but didn't mention it and had a more pressing issue looked at (a change in medication, renewal of my Symbicort inhaler) and told him about this flu-like feeling I was having since 4 days (I woke up 4 days ago during the night with a bad headache, but a typical all-encompassing headache, not specific like this) He looked at my throat and it's pretty bad, very red he says, but we concluded that if it was a virus, that I should tough it out, but if it wasn't gone in 3 days he would see me rapidly and give me antibiotics, I'm responsible when it comes to antibiotics.
I got my benzos, both scripts (valium 20mg and temazepam 30mg prn for insomnia) and my Symbicort. I wake up this morning, feeling really weird, with a headache in the same area where that weird event that lasted about 15 minutes over my left temple and over my left eye, but it's only on my left temple. I bought some sudafed with ibuprofen in it to help me breathe better, I had problems breating 3 days ago, so I pulled the symbicort but it was almost empty. Let's say that visit to the doctor was very well placed, and the fact I can see him this friday if I still have that problem.
So what do you say? Being that I feel numbness, pins and needles and still a kind of chest tightness even after I got my benzos, could it be a kind of bronchitis/pneumonia that I'm not feeling is that bad because I'm on bupe? That headache + the weird feelings I have associated with it...it's really difficult to describe. All this started after getting an amalgam filling (goddamn bupe's lemon and lime extracts is killing my once perfect teeth, only had 3 cavities in my life before that and they were tiny in between teeth issues. Now I won't claim that the filling is causing this, my insurance covers only frontal teeth when it comes to white fillings. I've read things that make amalgam fillings really horrible and the WHO considers it safe only because it would be a major costly inconvenience for dentists to use white fillings (and ceramic for people who are really rich) and the companies producing amalgam. I was always glad that at least, I had perfect teeth.
I'm worried more than usual about this headache because of that extra feeling of weirdness. I don't know if it's because my plasma levels of valium aren't back to what they normally are yet, but it's hard to think of what is going on with me. If it's a virus, it should be gone by friday, right? Viruses that cause bacterial-like infections last 6-7 days max right? Should I ditch the ibuprofen+pseudo for just aspirin? I'm not feeling good about this...normally I have fever when I develop a viral or bacterial infection, I didn't get any fever, just a very red throat and when I wake up I can spit out 3-4 yellow/green wads but that's about it. I was there in his office yesterday, I should have taken his offer for antibiotics, I could have started taking them without having to go back to see him if things didn't get better. I feel VERY strange, is all I can say, and the valium hasn't acted like it did usually after withdrawing for 7 days, it reduced anxiety but that weird headache is almost causing...derealization.
