Well I'm stuck in the hospital again and I was wondering, is using a picc line to iv heroin worse than just a regular iv? I would still filter it with a regular syringe and cotton, then put it into one of the syringes they use to flush my mess. Good or bad idea?

Incredibly bad idea. Potentially lethal one, in fact. Endocarditis & all that. Please do not do this.

How come this is such a bad idea? They put dilaudid through it all the time. I'm not arguing but if u could explain a little more I would appreciate it. So I should just iv it like I normally would at home? I've done this a fee times already, that's why I'd like u to explain a bit more, to see if I've done irreversible damage...

A picc line is a percutaneously inserted central catheter, which is like a regular hospital I.V. except that it is wound around through your veins until it sits right above your heart. It is much more vulnerable to infection and the consequences of such an infection, in the heart, are potentially lethal, not to mention the potential of the formation of emboli (particles in the blood) which could lead to heart attack, stroke, loss of limbs, and other such lovely things. Do not fuck around with central lines. You can die, and I'm not saying that as a remote possibility. This is really really really dangerous. You have not probably done permanent damage but every time you use that thing to shoot something that is not sterile and filtered you have the potential to seriously fuck yourself over.

I have personally known several people that have had very bad repercussions from shooting into central and piccolo lines. And mom being a nurse in icu heard about several others. DO NOT DO IT YOU ARE FLIRTIMG WITH DEATH... and death from heart failure is a slow terrible thing

This is disappointing to hear for me. I'm a "tough prick" or whatever u call it, and I have basically no veins that I can see except a fee in my hand that will most likely blow out soon. I was kind of looking forward to how easy it would be to have a perfect shot every time. I been thinkin about switching to snorting, but I have a huge tolerance problem as well as an iv addiction. I just don't see how it could be so different from sending the dope to my heart through the vein.

Just to echo what others have said, this is a TERRIBLE idea. You're really putting yourself at risk for a lot of potentially life-threatening problems (as others have mentioned, bacterial endocarditis is a distinct possibility.)

You're reaching what is a common 'end of the road' for opioid addicts. You're running out of veins and options, and the only real option that involves you surviving much longer is to lower your tolerance.

My god, I shudder at the thought.....dude, I'm sorry you have one of those to deal with in the first place, but please don't complicate it further with shooting nasty powders off the street DIRECTLY INTO YOUR HEART

and now that I'm on the subject, what do you mean "my mess", are you simply reffering to the pharmacueticals they deliver through the tube, or what.....

I pray for my health.... I know it doesn't help, but wow.....

Idk what u mean, where did I say "my mess"? I don't see it. Will some1 explain to me why its safer to iv through my veins? Does the blood do something to the heroin to make it safer, or what?

This is a recurring pattern on this site which frustrates me to no end. Someone will come on and ask about the risks involved in some questionable drug-taking practice, they will be informed that those risks are considerable, and then they will try and justify doing it anyway. You have been informed of the risks, and you can find out more information (Google "central line infection" or similar), but the bottom line is, you now know that this is a bad idea.

If you choose to do it anyway, you will most likely wind up with an infected central line, endocarditis, thromoembolic diseases, and worse. All on top of whatever severe medical condition bought you the PICC line in the first place. And when you are laid up in the hospital with these complications, the doctors and nurses will call you a stupid fucking junkie behind your back.

And they will be correct.

It is asinine people like you who give a bad name to drug users, because you act out of wanton disregard for basic safety driven by a total lack of self control and willful ignorance as to the most basic practices which will safeguard your health.

Do as you see fit.

Goodnight.

What part of injecting a bacteria-laden, heavily cut, street drug DIRECTLY into your heart doesn't scream DANGEROUS!!

Your heart tissue (next stop, the lungs!) will be directly exposed to the bacteria and cuts rather than them having a chance to clog small capillaries elsewhere in the body or cause less lethal infections therein. People get bacterial endocarditis from regular IV'ing, but imagine how much more likely what you're doing makes that.

If you can't understand that this is extraordinarily dangerous and unadvisable at this point, then I don't think anyone here can help you. I'm going to go ahead and close this, PM me if you have questions about this.
