A saying I think about a lot: the difference between an addict and an alcoholic, an alcoholic will steal your wallet and feel bad about it an addict will steal your wallet and help you look for it. Addiction taints a lot of things unfortunately and completely skews your moral compass (for some).

this is bullshit because some people have morals and others dont and its all to do with your personality and situation combined

alcoholics can be evil and heroin addicts can be well behaved. but this girlfriend is a thief and because op is the outsider her family will probably think it is the op unless she has always been like that.

She's lying. I just went through this myself w/ my best friend. The only reason you are doubting it (most likely) is because you don't want it to be true. Follow your gut. It's right on more often than you think. Good luck! :D
