Is pill testing more common nowadays?

I haven't touched pills in a very long time, and as a result, I am disconnected from the scene. But when I was, pill testing was fairly new. Most dealers knew about EZ tests, but most opted against it, instead preferring to purchase and dispense pills with as few questions as possible.

I'm wondering how the culture has changed. Now that drug dealers have had well over a decade to assimilate reagent testing into their trade, I need to know whether it has become more widespread, and more importantly, more widely implemented.

If so, explain your feelings and why you believe it has changed. If not, tell me why you think this cultural shift is having such a hard time happening.

Mods, I realize that this is a Drug Culture question, but as it relates to ecstasy exclusively, I decided to post it here. Still, feel free to move it at your discretion.

Depends. The low-level dealers often could give a FUCK as long as the pills sell, while the higher up dealers tend to know whats in them but still don't really care as long as they sell.

The dealers care not what is in the pills they are trying to sell. If you asked to test in fromt of them they would probably let you but if they came up bunk that wouldn't stop them from selling them.

but testing by users has grown leaps and bounds over what it was when I was still rolling. a tested pill was few and far between on pillreports.com 10 years ago. Now they are common. but even with a great deal more people testing than back in the day,the vast majority are still buying garbage pills and eating them without testing

People often don't reagent test until they finally have a bad experience and get an adulterated pill- even I have been guilty of "no my guy never gets anything but great pills", or assuming that a friend of a friend is a "trusted" source. My friend reagent tested pipes right in front of the person trying to sell her them, and even after she revealed they were pipes he said "are you sure you don't want them? People tell me they're great!"

I tend to ask people I meet at raves and clubs if they reagent test, and I'd say 1/2 of them actually say yes. Though we advocate testing on bluelight, many people choose to just take the risk and put up with the effects of adulterants.

i've only been in the scene for about 4 years now, but i would say its even more prolific now than it was when i first started. as far as dealers themselves, it just depends on the type of people you are buying from. most of the people i have ever made purchases from are in the rave scene and only want to do good stuff because they'll be consuming the product as well and pass it down to the end user, even if they have to pay a little bit more for it. i suppose there are some sketchy people out there who don't give a shit, aren't even doing the drug, and are only selling for pure profit, but those aren't the types of dealers i seek out. i've even had a couple of dealers ask me to use my test kit because something didn't feel right when they took the pills and they wanted to know what was in them.

Well nowadays with pillreports, testers being more common, and this information being spread to most users, I think the answer to your question is yes. In the 90s neither existed, there are still some BS dealers and retarded buyers out there.

I would have to say that more of the clued up users are testing thats purley based on the amount of people asking me where to buy kits, reports showing up with test pictures [compared to two years ago] and the slow change from some dealers away from piperazines to real pills (Europe).

I know that for every one person on Bluelight/PR that are testing there must be thousands that are not but when dealers see that theres a market for expensive pills (more profit) then they want a piece of the action.

In Ukraine, pill testing is practically non existent. But then again, we don't have the flood of pipes that you see in the US. Most pills in Ukraine tend to be cut with speed and that's what people expect.

When I was dealing with American dealer/users, most of them did not know about pill testing and they would use stupid terms like "quad stacked". In my experience, pill testing is still a relatively underground practice in the US. I would say most of BL's visitors tend to be way more intelligent (or at least knowledgeable) about drug use. This is mostly going by the Michigan scene, I'd imagine people in CA, NY tend to be a bit more sophisticated about this kinda thing.

Plus, you get no repeat business selling fake pills. Think of how many times people have bought from a certain dealer, based on the fact they always hooked up solid ass pills.

Pill testing is out there but not everyone knows about it. I know dozens of people that have rolled and not one besides myself has a Mecke reagent.

Thanks for the replies. It seems as if there's still a fair amount of ignorance out there.

It's sad, for dealers especially, because the difference between a distribution charge and a manslaughter charge tends to be pretty large.

Well, I don't think a lot of people really know about them still, and the dealers sure as hell don't want them. Every time I mention test kits to rollers I meet, they have no idea what it is.

Anyone who reads my comment, Who does NOT Have a test kit,
Do yourselves a favour and buy one.
They are sooo worth the money.. (they arent even that dear!)

Also in my little group as soon as i pulled it out , (Theyd never seen one )
It was like RESPECT +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Lol

I have never EVER seen anyone with a test before, besides me and my bf (and I bought them both! lol). People aren't always that smart :p
Get a testing kit anyway!

Yep nobody I knew heard of one until I told them lol. I also heard some stupid excuses people will rationalize anything to themselves.
