Stimulants Is nicotine bad for you?

Smoking obviously is but that's the delivery mechanism.

What other ways of nicotine delivery exist, and is nicotine actually benign in itself?

Compare with coffee, caffeine seems to be an acceptable stimulant, widely used with little meaningful health drawbacks at moderate doses.

Nicotine on the other hand, are their significant drawbacks to its use?

I'm looking for something to act as a stimulant and/or dopamine enhancer, that's benign.

I can no longer use my prescribed stimulant (methylphenidate), and cannot continue to use codeine in solpedeine as a dopamine booster.

Coffee is actually okay, it does something, which is better than nothing. Made in a lattee with cinnamon and honey it actually has good anti-oxidant value.

I am a nicotine blank slate however; is it something to be avoided from a health point of view, or is there a way to incorporate it into your lifestyle such that it can be used positively with little negative health effects?

Well it's a carcinogen in and of itself, but so is red meat, fish, a wide variety of other meats, naturally occurring plant, animal and fungus constituents and synthetic chemicals. So yes it can be bad for you definitely, but so can anything in excess.

Take this with a grain of salt… but I watched a podcast with Hamilton morris on it (I believe it was with Danny Jones - not a fan of him but was interested in Hamilton lol) and he said he pops a zyn every now and then when he wants to get things done.. kinda similar to a low dose of a stimulant. I also believe they spoke about some kratom drink in the same way. He was what I would describe as ‘incredibly sensible about it’ and explained why he won’t take it all the time.

He seems to have this bizarre sense of self control that I can’t relate to… and as we all know, nicotine is very fucking addictive, among many other not so great things..

Research indicates that nicotine itself is not classified as a direct carcinogen. In other words, nicotine isn’t thought to cause cancer on its own. However, several studies suggest that nicotine may contribute indirectly to cancer progression by promoting cell proliferation, angiogenesis, and processes such as the epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT), which can help tumor cells grow and spread . Furthermore, nicotine may interfere with tumor suppressor mechanisms (like CHK2) and could potentially reduce the effectiveness of some cancer therapies, thereby indirectly influencing cancer outcomes .

It’s important to note that while nicotine is the addictive component in tobacco products, cigarette smoke contains numerous other chemicals—including many well-established carcinogens—that are primarily responsible for the increased cancer risk associated with smoking. Thus, most of the carcinogenic risk linked to tobacco comes from these other toxins, not from nicotine directly .
