I know there is no way of actually being able to answer this question with certainty but I'm sure there are others that have gone through similar situations that can give me some insight.
I took opiates for at least a couple of years. Started low. Towards the end I would say my tolerance was 30mg of oxy or 45mg of oxy to feel real good. So my tolerance was probably 45mg of oxy.
A little over a year ago I figured I needed to stop so I went to a sub doc. He prescribed 32mg a day! When i took 4mg I was out of it for a day straight! I went back to opiates after not liking the subs.
Eventually I went back to the Subs. I still had a lot left. I found that I could take 1-2mg a day and feel great. Not high but a constant nice feeling. No ups and downs.
When i first started taking subs I would once a month take oxy. The oxy always worked great for me the very next day. Never had to wait like four days for the oxy to work. Although the regular 30mg didn't do much. I would take 45mg to feel ok. I did this maybe the first three months of taking subs. I never went longer then four days back on real opiates.
Soon after I found that 60mg of oxy brought about the euphoria I have always heard about. I never sought out euphoria or nodding. I just liked how social and happy it made me.
Like I said though I could take maybe 3mg of Subs and about 16 hours later take oxy and it always worked fine.
Well it has been about a year since I have taken any opiate other then my subs. For some stupid reason I upped my dose of subs when they were doing fine already. I could easily get by on .5-1mg a day of subs when I started yet now I take 4mg a day.
For some reason I don't look at it like I'm in sobriety. I mean I have to take subs every day. Its been year since I have taken a real opiate and I am not the least bit proud of myself. I know I couldn't of done it without the help of the subs. I also know if I had a bunch of real opiates I would of taken them in a second. The subs just took away my motivation to seek out the opiates.
So now I wanna take another sub break for a few days. First time in a year. Don't ask why. I just do.
When I did this before I never went longer then about 30 days of taking subs. Will I see a difference in how I respond to a real opiate after taking subs for a full year straight as opposed to 30 days?
Also is there a chance I have screwed up my tolerance by upping the dose of Subs I take? Before it was usually 1-2mg a day and at most 3mg. I could of really gotten by on .5-1mg a day when i started Now I take 4mg and sometimes a little more.
I would plan on taking the 60mg of oxy 16 hours after my last sub dose just as I did before. It always worked fine for me. Some people have to wait days but I always seemed to be fine after 16 hours.
So my main questions are tolerance, and is there a difference in taking subs for 30 days as opposed to a full year? Are the subs any more attached to my opiate receptors after a year as opposed to a year?
